Why do some contests state that you have to have been a member for at least 30 days to vote?

It's probably to avoid people who solicit their friends to sign up just so they can vote and skew the result.

Interesting I forgot there were contests here. The contests have little to do with
selling the art for me at least.

In some contests, anyone can vote, member or non member. In others, only members can vote. I believe FAA stipulates the 30 day rule to weed out multiple accounts and other things
