Helping Animals With Art

An art auction started today on Facebook. The event is to raise money for K9Aid International and runs throgh Sept. 12th. I have donated 2 of my works and 3 prints of my late mother's, Avonelle Kelsey. Once the auction closes I am ordering the prints made via FAA/Pixels and sending them out to winning bidders across the globe.

I also have a dog, all be it a very small one, that I adopted via K9 Aid. Here in Thailand, they help both shelters and work with dogs rescued from the illegal dog meat market, placing them in homes all over the world.

Please take time to browse the auction and share it on FB and other social media sites. There is still time to donate art/prints if you want and it never hurts to shop or share. Tell them Nola sent you.

Also, if you also have a favorite animal-related charity that has events with an artistic theme, please post them here. I'd love to see how other charities are using art as part of their fundraising programs. It may give me some ideas for how I can help my community NGOs.

Thank you!

Good luck with the auction Nola. I am involved with a cat charity and 50% of the proceeds from my sales of two images go to them. I am on another POD where a % of all my sales goes to a dog charity. There is an initiative for a cat charity by one of our FAA colleagues Anita, this is the thread http://pixels.com/showmessages.php?messageid=2323098

I try to raise money for an animal welfare organisation in Kuwait (am living in Kuwait at the moment). I sell originals at a local vets and donate 50% towards the organisations never ending vets bills. http://pencilpaws.com/animalwelfare/ .

Good luck with your charities Nola and Dorothy.

I've recently started creating a wildlife collection with 50% of all proceeds going towards a dog charity in southern Ireland. I would be interested in getting involved with K9 Aid and will check out their FB page plus share it around. Good luck with the auction :) Thailand is particularly close to my heart as I was born and raised in Bangkok - spent the first 18 years of my life there, and still consider it 'home' in many ways. My problem, and I'm sure others as well, is which charity to pick! But, we can all do our bit in some small way.
