Ordering Problem?

I received an email from a customer who placed an order but it said his credit card was invalid. He told me that his credit company sent a text that the order was placed.
Statements seem to contradict each other and have not received notification that anything was ordered so far.

you should contact customer service with this. i'm not sure how the card company would send a text here. if the card was bad, then it never would have gone through.

if you didn't see that you got a sale, then it probably didn't go through.

Yea, Mike I sent an email to customer service before I get back to the purchaser. At this point I do not believe the order took place.

I placed an order for a customer the other day with my own credit card. Put in all the information and when I submitted got the red error message indicating something was wrong. Went back and could not see what it was. Submitted again. Same error message. Went back again and this time it said my credit card number was wrong. So I figured I'd fat-fingered something and put it in again, very carefully. Submitted and it took. All was well.

But . . . and this is why I'm adding to this discussion . . . the next day the same charge was on my credit card twice. In once, cancelled. And in again. Absolutely identical. So I wasn't charged more than I owed or anything, but obviously the first transaction went through just fine but something at FAA thought this was not the case.

Nikolyn,

Thanks for your input. Whether it was a customer error or FAA, since it was a problem for the customer he may not try again. Sales are few and far between and there (so far) has been any indication that a purchase was made. Customer service is slow to respond, maybe not at all on weekends.
