Something Is Wrong

I uploaded a jpeg TWICE in the last 1/2 hour and filled out everything and when I submitted it, I got the "Something is wrong message" and my image wasn't there, just the broken link icon, so I uploaded it again and filled out everything again and customized my products etc, It did it to me twice. I will wait until tomorrow (It's evening down under) and try it again. Hopefully whatever is wrong is fixed by then. Just FYI....

I've just been trying to post a reply in a group discussion forum and got a 'web page unavailable' notice as soon as I pressed the Post Reply button.

But hey, this is the weekend and that's the time Sean usually chooses to do background work on the site...

I thought it was just me. Now I know I am not alone in this mess. I have tried logging out and back in again. I have tried several different photos and nothing. The least FAA could do is send us an e-mail stating when they are updating or if there is an issue. Maybe there should be a way for us to tell them when things aren't working. So much for loading this morning. ugh!!

It happens... it is computers.... it is the Internet... It is Sean working on the system..... chit happens.

On the uploading images here is a tip.


I use the multiply image upload feature but I only put the image, the title and author information in. I DO NOT put any of the other stuff. No keyword, no description, no groups no nothing else. I submit them as I go, I do not submit then all at the same time. As soon as I have the title and author in, I hit submit and scroll down to number 2 and so on..

I type my key words and descriptions in Word. Then I edit each new upload. Word also has a lot better spell and grammar checking as well. If you are dyslexic, this is very helpful. This also give you the cut and past ability for items that are very similar.

I find that I get about half as many error messages and twice as much work done.

But as mentioned above, sometimes nothing works... Then I see if I can get a walk in T-Time or I go harass people in the threads. :-)

I put all the information in the EXIF data in PSE, when I have a computer anyway. Then when I upload to FAA or Flickr, all the relevant fields automatically fill in

OOPS... SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHTThere was a problem completing your image upload. Please try submitting it again.... This is what I've been getting for the past half hour trying to upload new images to my artist website , Seriously ? With the number of artist and sales this company has it should be fixed much faster - Not Happy !!! and it happens too often

I made sure tech was aware of it but can't give you an ETA on when it will be done.

As an artist I had a bunch to upload as well and I know it's frustrating but I will just have to do it later.

They should probably have a switch on the backend to disable the upload form in times like this so we don't waste time filling out all of the fields. It could just replace the form with a message indicating that the uploader is down (not saying this out of irritation - I just can't help thinking this as a web developer :) ).

Me too! Happy to be in such fine company though.

Off topic - does anyone know if previous buyers are ever contacted by email by FAA to let the buyer know that the artist they have previously purchased from has recently uploaded new art or images? I thought it would be good marketing on the part of FAA and give the buyer a push to come back and look at what's new. Just a thought..... since I can't upload my images right now. :P

Timothy, FAA does market to previous buyers but not necessarily the way your great suggestion is worded.
