Wifi Networks Blocking Faa

I've never paid much attention to it on the past when (probably because of nudity) some wifi networks block FAA.

It happens here and there but tonight I was going to try to upload some stuff at the Taco Bell in Bozeman, MT and the network would not let me access FAA and blocked all images going through the AWS that presumably are hosted on FAA.

It seems like there must be some filter list that FAA is on that these networks subscribe to.

If it is nudity, is there any way to make it less visible on the site so it doesn't get blocked or some other way to get around these filters to access the site?

that makes very little sense, i wonder if they blocked porn sites as well. something doesn't really add up there, since there isn't enough nudity to raise a complaint. unless this site has been marked again by google or something as unsafe, i can't imagine why the block.

Maybe its sites with low text to image ratios.

It is web filtering software like BlueCoat. Any site, including stock image sites, that have any nudity are classified as Adult content. Networks then use the web filtering software to block certain sites like hate speech, pornography, and adult content.

My guess is what John just said. I wonder if filters run well on that software?

Probably not.

Yes it is nudity. We can get it unblocked if we know who is blocking it

I've found a few that won't allow my Yahoo mail. I use the mail app on my ipad, and I have to go into yahoo mail site. I've never been able to figure out why the app wont work, or why.

Sounds like a good idea for another FAA clone - FAA SANS SKIN

Or PixelsTB.com - The Taco Bell Verison

....

BTW - how is the smoke in Bozo? My inlaws said it looks like Beijing.

Taco bello uses Fortiguard web filtering. They have Fineartamerica.com classified as Shopping and Auction and it appears that Taco Bell has blocked this category from their Wi-Fi network.

The smoke in Bozeman is horrible. Can't even see the mountains upon waking up in the Walmart parking lot.

Yellowstone was clear around Old Faithful Yesterday but Lamar Valley was pretty bad before that.

Have to figure out a route to East Glacier today where the roads won't be closed.

Highway 2 has been closed on and off and Essex just got evacuated.

Waterton will be an inferno if they catch fire so hopefully that won't go up in the next week.

Taco Bell had some odd blocking. No PBS either. McDonalds has so far always been ok though.

I have also seen some browsers work better than others. Chrome is my go to, but I have had problems as of late.

I've in the past had to wait at my daughter's swim practices (and will again starting next week). These are at pools in area high schools (and ended up being 3 different school districts). I noticed that some schools wifi would block FAA and others would not.

My work computer blocks Pixels, AW and joethephotog.com... but I can get on using FAA, It doesn't always make sense.

Time to head east? no? Last time we were out west in the Beartooth Highway area and Red Lodge we had to leave early because of a fire. Kind of scary when you head back to the B&B and the police are blocking the road.

....
I guess Taco Bell wants their customers to eat and move on. Go figure. ;-)

....

Check out the Emerson arts center while in Bozo. http://www.theemerson.org/

Headed up to Many Glacier, Waterton , Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper now.

Waterton and maybe others will be hell on earth if they catch fire. The dead wood is piled up to 4 feet high in the forest in some places.

Hopefully all the wifi hotspots will like FAA cause there won't be any other way to do anything.
