Price Confusion: Solved

I'm trying to match my prices on my tote bags so that they're the same price as a couple of other artists that I follow.

When I "edit" my prices on my image page for the 18" by 18" totes, they are in American dollars. Then they show up on my selling page as Canadian dollars, 'cause that's where I live so I have my currency set for Canadian dollars.

But this is where I get very confused. When I go to the main "Shop" page on the Pixels side, I type in my name and look for tote bags. This price is different from my Canadian price. And it's different from the American price that I see when I am "editing" my image page.

The only thing that makes any sense to me is that the size Pixels is offering on their main "Shop" page is not for an 18" by 18" tote.

I'm really confused and have a big fat headache now.

I'd appreciate some help :)

check the black area at the bottom. it changes your currency now and then.

No it doesn't make sense.

On Pixels when logged out it says my totes are $27 (which is the price of the smallest size) but when I click on an image the thumbnail says $32 which is the 18 inch size.

Maybe they think people will click on them if they look less expensive but then the size defaults to the 18 inch when you choose one so the price reflects that.

Very confusing!

Mike, the currency is still in Canadian dollars.

Gill, I think I solved the discrepancy in prices. On my image page, a 16" by 16" size is offered. After checking two other artists prices, I see a correlation between their price offered for a 13" by 13" tote bag and the price that shows on the main "shop" page.

So two different sizes are displayed. The largest size offered is shown on my image page. And the smallest size of the tote bags is offered on the main "shop" page.

Sheesh!

I do understand why it's done this way. It's all about marketing.

All of this thinking is helping me grow new brain cells :)

Here's a final summary on how tote bags are displayed, meaning which size bag is shown first.

On your main image page where you have one piece of art, the largest size is displayed first.

On your personal "Shop" page on the Pixels website, the medium size is displayed first.

On the Pixels Main "Shop" page, for all artists, the smallest size is displayed first.

My sleuthing is over for the day. Hope this helps someone else besides me :)

i guess you can report this to bugs. many have complained about the currency issue. i think the IP your using is making it switch over. there used to be a drop down box that had the currency in it. it was taken away, maybe it was put back?
