Child Is Not Looking

I don't know where to begin. Are we suppose to guess what the baby is looking at?

Imagine I was that child, a bird in the tree might be more interesting than a strange man aiming a camera on me.

My guess is that, baby can not turn his neck?or his eye?

It is a drawing from a photograph? That baby looks old enough to move and focus well. Babies look at what interests them.

because babies look at everything. they may not be seeing your camera at all, or know what one is. they may see a bird, a window, something flapping around. or they aren't looking at anything. just staring off.

The photographer has the sun at his back and the baby doesn't want to look at the sun.

May be the photographer is not as important as he takes himself ?

Assuming you took the picture, why don't you tell us what the baby was looking at?

Another photog is shooting from the side and is making Kochi loo baby noises.

The baby is just thinking about how disappointing his first Uber experience is going.

1/500 of later the kid was looking.

If a person the baby knows is standing outside the camera's range making silly faces or holding a toy, maybe several feet away from the photographer, I'm pretty sure the child wouldn't be looking at the camera.

For formal photos of kids -- I remember photographers when I was kid holding a squeaky toy next to the lens and doing everything possible to draw our eyes & attention to the lens. The point was to make us look at the camera, and not turn our heads to make eye contact with the comb-brandishing mom off to the side.

maybe the september comet was making its, close-enough-to-earth-to-see-it, yet-not-destroy- it rendezvous. and that's what the kid was looking at....

it could be that the kid is looking at the photographer, but one eye is lazy.

or there is a large bird coming down to get the photographer.

Maybe he's trying to look casual while reaching for his handgun.

Could have been a zoom and the photographer was outside the focal sphere for the kid. Anyway, you did a fabulous job on this with colored pencils. Absolutely beautiful colors!!

An Angel is singing to the kid!

The baby just woke up from sleeping, and the first thing he/she did was lift the head. 1/500th of a second later, the baby WAS looking (as someone else said) in the direction of the strange clasping sound of the shutter/reflex mirror in the camera. A second later, the baby was looking at a large approaching carnivore that had escaped from a nearby holding facility, as both the baby, mother and photographer were savagely and sadly consumed as lunch.
