Uploading Images

Is there a quick way to add all your images at once? I don't mean the multiple image uploader, that's only 5 at a time. I have about a thousand pictures I want to add and doing it this way would take me a year! Isn't there a bulk image uploader?

When I was new to FAA I also had many many many images I wanted to upload quickly. I was used to being able to drag and drop images such as is done in Flickr and bulk add descriptions, tags, etc. I was disappointed that I could not do the same thing here.

Many of my images were done in low resolution which for printing purposes was not good anyway but I was new to this whole selling thing and had to learn the process. After I became more familiar with how things are set up in FAA, I found out that if I have a batch of images to upload, I prefer to take care of entering them into FAA groups at the same time. Now days, unfortunately, many of these groups (if not most), only allow 1 or two images to be added in a 24 hour period. That pretty much puts a crunch on things.

I'm at the point today, after having uploaded most of my better archived images and now only doing new images daily, that I don't have many more than one to three images I may want to upload at a time now. I've expressed my concerns about groups limiting their uploads to only one in a 24 hour period on more than a few occasions. I find that most people who voluntarily created groups, did not think things through far enough and as a result have become overwhelmed and thus the image restrictions have become more and more common. I believe those groups could be helped with co-admins if there was a capability designed into FAA for it.

Wow, that's really a bummer. Getting all my pictures on here is going to take months, if not a year, with 1000 pictures (and more new ones every week). I guess i'll just have to start with the best ones, for now.

Brian have you put that idea (co-admins) in the weekly suggestion thread? Sounds like a good idea and would also provide back up for holidays and illness which would avoid some of the backlog and stress for the admins trying to catch up.

Theres a lot of work to be done for each image and for good reason. Everything from a title, keywords, description, gallery organising, submitting to groups, customizing product placements, social media plugs if your using them. Each of these processes, if done well, increase your images exposure potential and are critical.

If you are interested in sales of your art, take the time to maximise your chances because every bit counts. Whether you submit 1,5 or 1000 at a time, the process if done correctly will take the same amount of time. I doubt you will do all those background processes as you bulk dropped 1000 images on the site. So take the time.

"Everything from a title, keywords, description, gallery organising, submitting to groups, customizing product placements, social media plugs if your using them."

That doesn't even begin to address the question of the post-processing needed to take an image straight from the camera and turn it into something suitable for sale, or have you already done that for all 1,000 images?

No, there is nothing more as said up there.... We want your best, not mass uploads :)

It may all be your best but, for many, many people unfortunately, it would be a folder full of the family outing, or fido scratching. Which is great, but not for here unless properly edited, key worded, described etc

Are you new to POD sites? I don't know of any POD site that allows bulk uploading as you are describing.

always post your best. its probably one of the reasons why there is a throttle in the first place. it took me about a month to upload 1200 things, i did it one at a time all day long. as it was i messed up a lot of keywords.

be sure your images are free of noise, are in focus, are not enlarged, stretched out or blocky. otherwise they won't print them.

if there was a bulk uploader people would abuse it, upload any junk file they had by the handful.

If it's any consolation, everyone here whether the gave a few images or thousands of them upload them the same way everyone else here does
