Happy World Photography Day!!!

Share your message to the world! (Post one "embed" image code, here! And if you'd like to write a few words about what photography means to you, please feel free to do so!

For me, photography allows me to connect with other humans, to communicate, to share. Photography is also a reminder to appreciate and remember all of the meaningful and beautiful things that touch my senses. Photography often forces me to examine more closely that which is considered spiritual, fantasy, and/or ugliness, cruelty, hopelessness . . . Happy World Photography Day, everyone!

My photography and painting both allow me to share the beauty and joy I see in this world, especially of ordinary and unexpected things most people don't see unless it's pointed out to them... like the morning sun drying a pair of my wife's sandals on a window sill.

Happy WPD to you too, Sabrina.

With photography, my main goal is to capture and share my vision of the world's beauty with others. Small details (much like Bill said) are sometimes not noticed unless someone points it out to them, and I want to be that person! I want my photographs to be able to bring back memories to all types of viewers and to be able to connect with many types of people through my art of photography.

Happy World Photography day to my fellow artist photographers!

Photography reminds me to keep in tune with the spirit of life. To spread the wings on our dreams and share the Light!

Perfect weather and at the very end of a gorgeous day. We were chasing the sun as its last rays spread over the valley driving along on the road in Sonoma - Wine Country in California. A row of older vines blazed against the back light amazingly and grabbed my attention. They really reminded me of Van Gogh's impressionism, but they were so real without any additional ornamentation, so incredible!

Hi Marilyn! I read a little of your bio. I loved what you said especially this part, ". . . We live in a world, where there is so much suffering, tragedy and discord, therefore I try to find refuge in the beautiful things that life does offer and that are just within our reach, if we could just open our hearts to it.' . . . Beautiful.

Photography helps me look more closely at things and when I then have my photograph in front of me I like to change it in order to create something which reflects my very personal view of reality.

Thanks, Alexandra. That's a beautiful image and definitely draws me in closer, too. There is a sense of engagement and then release toward the top left corner.
