Strange Visit To My Image

Parma Italy is another new one. Me thinks. I imagine every day new apps, sites, search engines etc are created.

I think it has become like caller id... people have found a way to hack (or reprogram) the system. I got a telemarketer calling from what my caller id lists as my own number. Clearly not who was calling me. Safeway grocery store comes up as "California" on my caller id.

I've had Parma, Italy for quite a while now. But never Hurth, Germany. You never know. In the past I've had multiple visits from a place and then eventually a sale on that image from that place. Maybe you have a fan.

Getting more visitors and views can't Hurth you though can it?

Its sounds like a kind of bot called a web crawler. They are not really strange. Its either web indexing or web scraping. It could be looking for keywords for a search engine or it could be indexing prices of things. But its just the normal stuff that keeps the internet moving along. Look up Web crawlers,

Thankful bots don't leave comments.

I have all the usual bots but there is also one weird one. Hanoi continually hits on just ONE image, and it's always the same one. Can't understand that. It's a rather ugly thing that I should have deleted long ago so I don't think a real person is interested in seeing it or copying it. Weird.

Most bots are not helpful or valuable to us with the exception of search engine types such as google, yahoo, bing and etc. .

Lately I'm getting lots of visits from Parma, Italy and Roubaix, France. They are part of ahrefs.com which scans the web collecting data which it sells to other companies doing marketing research, etc.

My two tops are Beverly Hills and LA. Beverly Hills will hit on all my work up to six times in a month or more. I get the others, but not as much as these other two. So if I weed out the bots.. pretty much very few people are seeing my work.
