Post Your ... And ... Show Us Your ... Topic Threads

What would be a best practice for handling these sorts of threads.?

If I ever open one, then my practice will be to close it after the first hundred responses.

I'm sure that the cutest of the "Cute" is still out there, but how would we ever know, if that thread is closed?

Unless they are time sensitive most of them die a natural death and just get swallowed up by the new threads.
I wouldn't close one after a nominal number responds. What if the person at 101 had the knock out answer you were looking for.

Seems that you either love 'em or hate 'em.
When too many show up, the rules about posting them change.
If you hate 'em, avoid them.
If you love them, post away and change the code to include some personal tags to make time spent worthwhile......

Here's how I handle them. If the topic is interesting to me, I look. If I can contribute, sometimes I do. If I don't care or if it's not my medium, I simply skip them.

I do wish there would be a tab in the discussions header so that show and tell threads and discussion based threads could be separated, but management has said many times that won't happen.
