Size Of Prints

Hi all, I'm another newbie to the group. Is it better to format all of my images to a particular size, ones that would make it easier to frame? I see that the sizes being offered of my prints are all pretty weird. I probably should have asked this before I uploaded so many of my pics. Thanks for your advice!

No, just upload what you have :)

Welcome, Valerie.

Wow, your Alien Mantis and other digital abstract bugs are unique! I was JUST having a conversation with my husband about how to be "different". Those definitely standout; haven't seen anything like them in my 5 months here.

Abbie is right; I didn't know that aspect ratio made a difference when I started to upload images. Yet their program does a pretty good job in sizing to fit, with a few exceptions. I just go in to Edit Image (at bottom of picture) after the upload, to make any custom minor placement adjustments under Customize Product; hit Submit, and it shows my preference over the computers preference. :-)

Really enjoy your bold and energetic colors and designs!

One cool thing about this site is they make the frames to fit your print.

In my opinion you are over thinking this and assuming your clients are looking for the cheapest option. While price is part of the mix, anyone spending $25. - $200 for a print needs to understand that frames will more than likely cost more than the print. Most folks just don't seem to know this because of their inexperience with art and framing. If you make your images to fit in an 8 x 10 then there will be a different aspect ratio for one that fits an 11 x 14 or for one for 20 x 24. Frames made to fit the art are one solution. Poor framing with odd looking mats cut to force an image into a ready made frame is another or cropping the image to fit those inexpensive imported or mass produced standard sizes. The latter are very poor solutions in my opinion and distract from a strong looking presentation or the art.

Also things like metal priints don't require any specific size. They are trimmed to size. Products like totes are sizable by the buyer, etc.

Hi Valerie.
You have some great images there but in order for them to get found you do need to have a better description and more key words

I've always wondered that too- personally I always crop my images to an 8x12 or 8x10 ratio before uploading them here.
