I already signed; but there is an update to the story:
More details emerged about how Cecil’s head got back in the hands of authorities.
Professional hunter Theo Bronkhorst, who helped Palmer slaughter his prey, handed over the beast’s skin and massive head to Zimbabwe police.
The Bushman Safaris founder had stashed the remains of Cecil in his house so it could mature before being cured by a taxidermist and shipped off to the United States,
he told The Telegraph.
Typically the skin is salted and stuffed, and the head is mounted. Importing elephant heads has been banned in the US, but lion heads are allowed.
“I advised my client to hand over the head and skin of the dead lion to the police as soon as he gets back to Bulawayo,” Bronkhorst’s lawyer told the newspaper.
