Pricing Inaccuracies Between Shop And Product Pages

Hi:

There appears to be an odd inconsistency in pricing on FAA. It appears when I click through from the SHOP page to the PRODUCT page -- on my own work and that of others. I have only noticed and investigated this among Metal Prints when I am not logged in to my account. Specifically, the prices listed below the images on SHOP pages are often much less than the prices listed on the PRODUCT page (for the default/smallest size); then, other times, it is very close (eg. $43 and $43.15); rarely, they actually match. For example with some of my images:

“Newspaper Sand Blast” - size 12” x 6.75” - SHOP price button “$38” - PRODUCT page price “$66.11” (Print $29.00, Material $37.11)

"Green Apple" - size 10” x 6.63” - SHOP price button “$40” - PRODUCT page price “$55.92” (Print $25.00, Material $30.92)

"Pumpkin Harvest" - size 10” x 6.63” - SHOP price button “$41” - PRODUCT page price “$55.92” (Print $25.00, Material $30.92)

“Clams” - size 10” x 7.13" - SHOP price button “$42” - PRODUCT page price “$58.23” (Print $25.00, Material $33.23)

“Pool View” - size 8” x 6” - SHOP price button “$43” - PRODUCT page price “$43.15” (Print $21.00, Material $22.15)

“Measure 5” - size 8” x 6.38” - SHOP price button “$45” - PRODUCT page price “$45” (Print $21.00, Material $24.00)

“Scull 35” - size 8” x 8” - SHOP price button “$51” - PRODUCT page price “$50.54” (Print $21.00, Material $29.54)

I get the rounding…it’s cool.

Another quick investigation gave me similar results with random images on the FAA SHOP page:

Keyword > landscape
Product > Metal Prints
Medium > Photographs

These are among the very first results that appear on the top of the first page:

“San Francisco Through the Bridge” by Matt Trimble - size 10” x 6.33” - SHOP price button “$55” - PRODUCT page price “$75.92” (Print $45, Material $30.92)

“Deep Looks” by Vance Fox - size 8” x 6.38” - SHOP price button “$44” - PRODUCT page price “$44.00” (Print $20, Material $24)

“Moonlight Over a Lake” by Jaroslav Grudzinski - size 10" x 6.33" - SHOP price button “$34” - PRODUCT page price “$50.92” (Print $20, Material $30.92)

“First Light on Wilpena Pound” by Bill Robinson - size 10” x 6.88” - SHOP price button “$46” - PRODUCT page price “$56.85” (Print $25, Material $31.85)

“Herbert Lake - Quiet Morning” by Jeff R Clow - size 10” x 6” - SHOP price button “$33” - PRODUCT page price “$47.69” (Print $20, Material $27.69)

I recently activated my Premium Membership and look forward to the benefits. I've begun by uploading more than 50 images over the past few days. Most of my photos are consistently formatted — with aspect ratios of 3:2 or 16:9 along with some squares. The Fine Art America pricing structure seems straightforward as explained in several places throughout your website. I also understand how the pricing varies depending on not only the size of the print, but the material on which it's printed. I set default prices for my items to make things easy and predictable for both my buyers and myself. HOWEVER…I am not comfortable spreading the word about this new venture as long as this pricing inaccuracy glitch is happening. Not good to confuse or mislead potential clients which in turn is not good for me or FAA!

I’m looking forward to hearing about it’s explanation and remedy.

Take good care and have a great day!

I checked several in your second search...landscape/metal/photo...and most were correct. The ones that weren't I'm thinking maybe they changed their pricing recently. I know it takes up to 24 hours for changes to be seen in the searches, just not sure how it affects it once you click through to the product. Or I could be totally wrong...

I just noticed the same thing happening with mine. Mostly with the canvas prints!

Forget what I said above. Seems like all except prints and posters are way off. Looks like it is grabbing our pricing instead of adding on our markups. I placed a few in a shopping cart, I was logged off, and thankfully it is with the correct pricing. Still, a bit misleading and probably confusing for customers...

Good catch, Jason !

I would agree that prices changing and inconsistencies such as this might be enough to discourage a buyer from making a purchase who otherwise would have.

Please keep this thread open and anybody who notices it has been fixed, please post so in this thread.

Will keep an eye out.....I know others are having the same problem. Pricing consistency is very important as Dan and others have pointed out. One of my biggest pet peeves is "bait and switch". So if i see a price and then click and it is higher, I leave. Period. And I never come back.

That's why I've fixed the Wanelo problem so it doesn't happen to me again. Already lost sales...

Saw some of these, but was waiting to see if they were going to address the tote issue first, or if we have to work around these issues-

Any updates/progress to report, Abbie?

I'm still getting these inconsistencies for metal prints for instance.

SHOP page price button vs. METAL PRINTS page for default/smallest size:

$29 vs $103.58
$31 vs $91.15 or $91.71
$35 vs $72.32
$38 vs $66.11
$40 vs $55.92
$41 vs $55.92
$42 vs $58.23

...the $43, $50 and $51 listings appear to be OK.

Thanks.
