Facebook Help

I know this is a FB question but I figure you guys might know... Googling about it has not helped.

I'm going crazy- I want to post new artwork to the FAA Facebook page as my business page but for the life of me I can't find the setting that lets you use FB as your business page - I swear it used to be under the arrow next to the padlock in the blue bar at the top. Have they eliminated this functionality? I absolutely don't want to post these things as my personal page as it will spam my friend's timelines and will not help me to network.

Has Facebook eliminated this ability or did they bury the setting deep somewhere?!

Not the optimal way to do this, but I posted to my business page then shared that post to FAA. That way your business page will show up in the post. I believe it'll still spam your friend's timelines though.

I can't work it out on the app but when you're using the desktop website whenever you see a comment or post box there should be a small grey flag to the right, very hard to notice.
If you click that it should give the option to post as your page.

I am new to this site and have been trying everything out and seeing how it all works. When you set up your default settings there is an option for social media twitter and social media facebook. If you have enabled the facebook app for your "fan" page (which is what facebook calls the business page) you have the option for all you uploaded new images to automatically post to twitter and both of your facebook pages. (once you set the default - you can then edit any past image and simply submit and that will send the image to social media).

My bigger issue is facebook not allowing you to have a "fan" tab on your default main facebook page. I beleive they used to allow that. On your fan page, that facebook app puts your faa shop site imbeded right into the facebook page. Problem is if i have a main page with 10,000 friends and followers, and a new fan/business page with zero followers, how do you get people to go to and frequent your fan page?

I would like the SHOP tab found in the fan/business page to be right on my main facebook page....but I think facebook is resisting this to prevent everyone and their brother hawking their avon and nuskin products 24/7 to their base turning facebook into spambook.

Toby, it's in the page settings. Always post as page.

Go to your page settings and on the left side is 'post attribution' and then post as your page.

I think the post attribution setting only applies when your posting/liking things on your actual page.
If you want to post somewhere else (eg. on another businesses page) and have it attributed to your page, rather than your personal account, I've always found you have to set that every time and can't do it from the app.
You're looking for something like this - the icon is a small grey flag before you click on it.

Robert, I think like you said they want to keep personal and business accounts separate, best way is to share your business page on your personal wall to try and get your current friends to like it, you can also invite friends from the page.

"I want to post new artwork to the FAA Facebook page as my business page " That's what Toby said, Robert.

I think I know what you are saying...first go to your facebook page...go to the dropdown arrow at the top of the page on the right...it will say use FB as click on to the page you want to use as. Then go to the image you want to share....use that drop down to pick where you want to share it.. Now you will be sharing as your page.

Edit...I tried it and I am wrong...seems like if you post as your business page that is the only place you can post. There is no option to post any where else.

Thanks guys!

Sorry I wasn't clear- I want to be able to post to other groups/pages as my business page. For instance when I would like to share a new work with the Fine Art America group I would much rather it come from my business page than my personal page.

There used to be a setting where you could basically use all of Facebook as one of your business pages, but that appears to have gone missing in their redesign.

Interesting Val... That's where the setting used to be for me but now it is gone. I wonder if I am on a different design than you.

Thanks Chris... I'm not seeing a gray flag in the post box unfortunately...

No Toby...I was wrong...it seems if you post as your page the ONLY place you can post is your page. You can comment on posts as your page but it seems that is it. Tried it after I saw your question. To post to groups you apparently need to post from your regular account not your business page.

I hardley ever post directly from my FAA page (including my AW).

I always add the photo directly to my FB page and then share it to my other FB pages or where ever I want it to be seen.

I simply put the link in the description.

When you post it from the FAA page and then share it, there are a lot of groups that will not allow it because they see that as a 100% commercial advertisement and they do not allow them in their groups and it will be removed by the group administrator.

Part of that is because FAA sticks that link in your post that when you click on it it goes to an obnoxious ad. I don't like that FAA does that. I think the AW should be mine, and I don't like them taking the advantage and the opportunity to load a ad on my post.

When you share directly form you AW it should NOT include a link that takes the viewer away form your AW.

Upload your pics directly to you FB page and that is eliminated.
