Shopping Cart Widget - Galleries

I thought I saw a post about this a while back, but could not find it.

When embedding the default shopping cart widget on an external site, is there any way to get it to default to a galleries page / tab?

What a great source of info Abbie! I've bookmarked it. Thank you!

Thanks, abbie. Appreciate that.

That's both good and bad. I'm about to release a large series of pictures, placing them in a single gallery and that will be of excellent use in blogs, I'll have to play with it, tho, to see if it can be used as an anchored text link.

The inability to land on all galleries (for general purposes) is a disappointment. That would be a really usable widget feature. Can you stuff the suggestion in Sean's shirt pocket for me?

Thanks.

I agree...I would like to see the widget open to galleries too!

This is not a complaint. I'm just wondering if anyone can explain to me "why" it is possible to have galleries view show up first in our AW sites but not show up with all galleries (not just the one initial landing as Abbie shows above) when embedding the shopping cart. I love having the embedded cart on my AW, but do not like not having option to set galleries as initial starting point. What is the difference that makes it possible on AW but not in shopping cart?

The reason I ask is that this has been a request for SO many people over a long period of time. It "seems" to me anyway that it would be a simple thing to do, but it is not happening. Understanding the why of it and whether it is something possible down the road would help me make a decision as to whether I'm going to stick with the embedded cart or just create my own individual gallery thumbnails that link back to the specific gallery. Don't really want to go this route, but will if necessary.

This is the reason I never used the widget. I just link to my AW site so I can have the default view be galleries.

Well I guess that's what I'm going to end up doing, too, Loree. It's a shame, though, because the shopping cart works great other than that.

Changes are coming, ... sometimes, maybe, ...

At the moment, I use the workaround shown by Abbie, "synchronizing" my FAA galleries with the galleries on my website, by modifying the widget code.
