Goo.gl Link Shortener

Just a neat thing about goo.gl, google's link shinker. It keeps track of the links you have shrank, and also shows you stats for how many times they have been clicked on.

Good for a simple way to keep track of link clicks to your FAA page, or for me to know exactly how depressingly poor my twitter posts are doing right now. Oh well, one day at a time!

I really like this feature too.
Mike, if you have a google account (which is free and if you have google+ or a gmail account then you do for sure) and go to http://goo.gl/ you can shorten a url, like tiny does. But if you are signed in (see upper right), it will track them for you.

I sometimes will shorten when I don't even need them shortened, just so that I can get the tracking taken care of for me.

Yeah if you are logged into your google account, just go to goo.gl, when you shorten one it will do the rest!

If you're not a Google fan, the bit.ly shortener also lets you track clicks if you've created an account. They'll show that same depressing Twitter result, though. ;)

Thanks for the tip! Very cool to be able to see how many (or few) click over from different types of tweets. I followed too!

I use bit.ly, nothing against Google, but I get the GA stats Twitter stats and bit.ly stats.

I guess using Goo.gl you can skip using the Google URL builder, Thomas? To follow the URL
on GA.

I assume ga is google analytics (seriously why do we have to abbreviate everything). Other than that you lost me.
