Video?

I am on faa, pixels and have my website with the artist site here. Is there anyway to put video anywhere? Or are there any other options? I would like to at least have it on my website www.umeimages.com Please advise. Thanks!

there isn't a place for a video, and it would be very distracting. you can add code to you bio on the faa side of it. but not the art site. what kind of video is it?

Just a video of photographs I took. I posted it here https://instagram.com/p/5aFwgeH24j/

But I would love to include it somewhere on my website at least.

i would suggest not to. not only is it distracting. but anyone that is seizure prone, may trip out from that. create a webpage that has your artist site and attach it that way. otherwise i wouldn't post it.

Wow! Thanks for the criticism. I wanted to add it to my website not faa. My website is through faa though.

I am finding that usually, I get ignore and when I don't, I get insulted. Not really a friendly or welcoming environment around here. What a shame.

i'm not insulting you, nor am i trying too. but... this is a store, and that could happen to those that watch it. i don't think there is anyway to show a video. and on the artist site, less so. i can't even show my stat counter code for that site. a store should look clean and have nothing moving. the site is welcoming, and i did the best i could to help you.

You want to drive your audience here. Posting videos to YouTube is a good way to do that if the video is good. Once they get here, you don't want to distract them nor send them away. I don't like the idea of embedding slide shows here for that same reason.

Full disclosure -- I didn't watch your video

Full disclosure, too -- this is just my opinion

Steady on there. You asked for help and Mike gave you some.I don't see nothing in his reply as an insult to you.He gave you advise about video.
Now if you choose to accept it is up to you but don't think it is an insult if someone says something you didn't want to hear.
Did Joseph insult you as well?

I asked if there was a way to add video, not for an opinion on the actual video.

But if you are going to add a video here, do you not want people to warn you if it will drive people away?

You were given extra advice on why it would not be a good idea. You can act on it or not, your decision but people will help when you ask....which you did

Yes you may add a small video (or you used to be able to) to the FAA/Pixels side. But you need to change the dimensions to about 280-300 width

Add to your biography as an iframe

Not sure if that's been changed yet.

You may not add them to the AW side. We had to stop frames and scripts there as people were placing shopping carts there......not sure why

if you asked, how do i add music or sparkles to my arrow, i would say to avoid those too. a youtube video is also an exit point, and you don't want that. but mostly you don't want any kind of distraction. the main point of videos is to get people into your site, once there, seal the exits. and if the video is blinky like that, just be aware that there are people who will be sensitive, and with a black background the effect will be more profound. it wasn't meant to be a critique, but my immediate judgement after watching 5 seconds of that video.

You can upload your video to your youtube.com account and then grab the embed and paste it onto your non-faa/artistwebsites website. -W

I guess I have to get a youtube account too. I do have it on facebook and it gave an embed link. Wonder if it works too?

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));Crescent Hill Craft House: Farm-to-Table Beer Dinnerwith Apocalypse Brew Works beer pairingsPosted by Jeff Smith on Tuesday, August 11, 2015

Guess not

I will go on my artist site and try. Thanks

If you have copyrighted music, fb will remove it, but youtube will play it with restrictions depending on the music and its copyright, plus add links/ads to that music provider. -W

By the way, I didn't know your www.umeimages.com was your artistwebsites, but since it is, you can't embed it there neither. You have to host the video on your own personal website or a blog site like wordpress or something. -W
