Google + Question...

I just follow successful popstars and actors in the vain hope that one day they might take an interest in who's following them - and maybe decide to redecorate one of their houses :)

Mark, I've seen artists on instagram paint famous people and tag them in an image. Some of the actors have bought paintings. Might be worth a try for some here.

Do you go to the home page and look for artists to follow? I just tried to search for you there and didn't find you.

I just found the home page Jessica lol. I'm lost, all the SM sites are so different I have a hard time finding my way around. Not sure why I'm not showing up...even searched Sharon Norman Ohio and I wasn't there. Is there someplace that I tic to say I'm searchable?

Did you bookmark your profile? If you find someone you know look at their followers.

Hi Sharon. I have been on G+ for a while but didn't use it. Then this week I set up a MyBusiness page. When I did this I started to try to find suitable people to follow and to follow me. I tyhen came a cross this superb video on Youtube that explains clearly what you need to do to build up followers, and how some things will work and others are a waste of time. I only started this weekend but I have come across lots of "communities" of artists and photographers, and one called "Arts Classified" for people buying and selling artwork. I think a search in the Communities tab would be worth your while.

last time i went looking for people i was banned for a year. i just sit now. i think it has something to do with the rate of getting people in.

its easy to get banned from faa

paypal .... they should be revamped by the government, they are way too big now

google plus - they had no rules that i knew of, and never told me why i was banned even after. the only thing on that list was adding too fast, which i didn't know at the time. i never considered it a loss because i don't think i get hits from there, or not many. however i was reminded about it every time i was on blogger or youtube, and i couldn't post videos, or make comments on youtube.

Edit: I'm not too fond of FB either. I have barely been on my personal account since December. I did create an artist page a few days ago but haven't started uploading any images or making posts, and not sure I will. But at least it's ready to go if I decide to.

Hi Sharon, I am following you now.

Are you guys able to post your images from FAA or AW on Google+ ?

Several artists, including myself, are having a problem with that and have been reporting it to the "Query And Bug Thread #fresh" since last Friday. Here is the thread:

Unfortunately, there has been no response from FAA so I am thinking that not all artists may be experiencing this and that is why FAA is not doing much about it. Just wanted to know what is going on with others in this department. If you can't post your FAA/AW images on Google+ either, you can read the other thread and report the problem there.

Raisa, my images won't post either so I've been using a screenshot. More time consuming but not holding my breath that it will be looked into anytime soon. The new affiliate sites have precedence I believe.

Edit: the problem is on Google's end...Abbie and tech are aware and waiting to hear back

@Sharon, thank you! Do you mind telling me where you saw a post about FAA being aware of that? I thought the thread I mentioned in my post was the one for reporting all problems. Perhaps, I was wrong and should have looked some place else? I would like to know where to look for answers so next time I do not bug people unnecessarily :)

Hi Sharon - I found you and added you. What kind I'd followers are you looking for? Potential clients, other artists/photographers, or a balance of both?

I sent a couple of community invitations. If you would like some photographers following you for support, then join post an introduction to the community. You can search other communities that interest you, join and post.

I use my iPhone G+ app to search local people and add them to circles to build a local following.

I don't get a lot of +'s on my posts, but I am sure some of my marketing on there is producing sales.

I finally closed my page,,,It is very difficult to get followers on the page,, On your personal profile google+ sends out your profile to help you get followers and add to the circle,,,Such is not the case on the page,...I suspect they want you to rely on advertising(?) to gain followers! much like the Facebook page!!
