Found Running Image Searches...

Before I write this I want to say, (DO NOT GO TO THESE SITES) I am afraid to click on them and would not because of malware and viruses. Just an observation while running an image search this morning on probably a third of my work. These are sites that my work showed up in as being on and I have no idea what they are but on a few that I checked through google safe browsing, they were suspicious. So I suppose I just have to hope that they fizzle out quickly. Here is this mornings list: arumahminimalis, imgadvisor, petasu, pinstopin, imageck, dopepicz, hubhomedesign, shaodaren, quanxwyic, and zhangziqi. Did not add the .com's so nobody would be able to click easily because as I stated above, do not go there without a giant condom on your computer!!!
I am aware that it is just the price we pay for selling work online but it is pretty disheartening when you can not even go to the site to ask them to take it down or send the link to google takedown...Has anyone figured out a way to report places like these without clicking on the site and opening up a virus?

generally you won't get a virus from these sites... however if you have noscript, it will cut down on many things. but you have to OK every script on every page. i also have malware bytes that now prevent you from going on bad pages. the WOT rating will also give you an idea if its a bad site or not. any site can give you a virus/malware if they have scripts for that. these all sound like scraper sites. and you can't do a whole lot. best you can do is report it to google to have them removed from the search. a robot gets your images, no one there to hear your complaints.

Mike, what is noscript?

if you have firefox or waterfox no script is an add on, it blocks almost everything on a page, shockwave, applets, things that make the site function. you'll see a yellow bar at the bottom of the screen and you have to decide which things you wanted loaded on. its a pain to use because of that. and you may have to ok a dozen things. however i never see ads, if you look at the link and it says adhere, adnow etc something that sounds suspect, you don't ok it, and it doesn't run. i think you can also block certain things you don't like as well. it keeps me safer. you'll want a virus check for your email, many come from there.

and adobe apparently has a huge leak in their latest flash thing, where people can upload stuff to your machine. but i don't think the update is there yet. lots of places to get in trouble with.

Many sites exist solely to distribute malware. In those cases, they are not selling your photos, but using them for "bait" to get people to click on the site. You're right that there's not much you can do about it, so I don't spend very much time worrying about it.

i never liked chrome. firefox is a memory hog, i switched to waterfox. hard to say what is better or not, i've had success with waterfox, i'll keep it at that. each browser seems to have its own personality.

waterfox is just like firefox only they wrote it in a different language. it handles memory better, but has issues with some plugins. it sometimes also doesn't leave memory at all when shutting it off and i have to force it to close in the task manager.

Those are image sharing sites...Some lead the viewer back to FAA and some do not. My ImageRights.com account finds them and there is nothing to be done. I only use my Mac to look at them. I've tried DMCA with them to no avail.
