Have you read this: http://fineartamerica.com/imagelicensing.html ?

It explains the licensing business and pricing issues.

We looked through a good number of portfolios from photographers with pictures similar to ours, focusing on photographers who have been in business for a few years. Writing down their prices and then using an average as our own starting point.

However, as we have only been on FAA for a few days, no sales yet, no comments from any potential clients about pricing. Nada.

We priced the Royalty Free 500x... as low as $1,50 (mark up) so that website owners/bloggers who need an image for editorial purposes are not stopped by a high price from purchasing a nice pic from us for their projects. It's free advertising we thought. The more our images will be exposed to the world the better.

We also thought that business clients may sometimes need a picture for presentations for their boards before committing to purchasing a Right Managed License.

No idea if this thinking is right. We would greatly appreciate it if somebody would share a few thoughts on pricing licenses who is actually successfully selling some. How do licenses actually sell?

My markup for most RF images is as follows:

500px $9.96 ($12.95 retail)
1,000px $30.00 ($39.00 retail)
2,000px $75.00 ($97.50 retail)
4,000px $150.00 ($195.00 retail) (I often leave this one blank, though, to steer customers to full resolution)
Full Resolution $220.00 ($286.00 retail)

Notice each step up represents 4X increase in resolution but only a 2X - 3X increase in price. More pixels per dollar the higher you go.

I haven't sold a single license yet, so I don't know if this approach is any good. But this is what it's worth to me to grant a royalty free license to my images. Too cheap a price I feel belittles my time and effort.
