Yellowstone - Any Suggestions For Cool Stuff?

At Yellowstone now and almost running out of stuff to shoot.

So far:

All major waterfalls and around Canyon viewpoints
Endless Bison
Pronghorn
Panoramic shots all over Lamar Valley, around Tower and various other spots.
Bridge thing that goes into Mammoth Hot Springs (Mammoth is all dried out except for Canary so hardly worth shooting there)
Lots of algae mats
Lots of geysers and hot springs but the boardwalks vibrate because of all the crowds and shake the tripod so will do those in Oct in more depth
Mammoth Village from the hot springs there
Few shots around the lake but the mountains are so far off its hardly worth it
A few lakes here and there

Wildlife will be at Glacier where you'll see more bears in an hour in the fall than in a month at Yellowstone.

It's only been about 6 days and I'm already going back to the same places and doing random shots in the woods of logs and flowers and other scenery.

Would do more hiking but the landscape in much of the park looks dead because the pine bark beetles or something like that has wiped out huge patches of trees everywhere and in the southern part of the park it's just ugly. Not worth lugging a bunch of gear to shoot dead forests.

3 more days of Yellowstone and then onto Teton for 4-5. Then Glacier.

No, no ideas about Yellowstone. Was there last fall and it was a bust. Every time I go to Yellowstone I can't wait to get out of there and swear I'll never go back. I think the areas all around Tetons are way more beautiful and varied. But if I only had time for one of those places, it would be Glacier hands down. Wish I was there right now!

Jeez, almost sounds like you are complaining about being in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Why not get out of the park and explore the ranch lands of Wyoming and Montana? All the major tourist features have been shot to death.

I'm in Teton now. The Grizzly show definitely made the week. The crowds are unreal, Oct will be much more relaxing there.

Have you done Banff, Yolo etc up above Glacier?

Have you hiked to the Lone Star Geyser? It's far more impressive and reliable than Old Faithful. It goes off every 3 hours, so sometimes you have to sit and wait after you get there. It's only a few miles but the tourists stay away because most people don't hike any farther than they can see their cars. So crowds are light, just hikers and real nature lovers. And no board walk!

Lots of waterfalls easily accessible on back country trails day hikes. Again, low crowds. I'm not home right now to look at a trail guide so I can't make specific sugestions. You might be able to do some clever camera work to de-emphasize the dull trees.

First thing I would go for is the dead forests. Awesome contrasts in photos especially if you can find small signs of life among them.
