Help! Thought Pillow Without An Insert Was A Stuffed Pillow Without An Inner Pillow!

I assumed the pillow "insert" was a covered stuffed pillow that went inside the outside pillow cover and the inner pillow pulled out as it says "for easy cleaning." I thought without an insert would be just a stuffed without an inner pillow lining! Who would want to stuff their own pillows? Am I correct without an insert mean NO stuffing at all, just a pillow cover.

This needs to be made clear because pillows usually come in the store either one of the two ways I have described in the first two sentences. Does everyone realize this? I didn't! I just need confirmation of this fact. The on line world seems to be far different than what I am used to.

No insert means no stuffing at all, Suzanne. I buy all of mine with no insert, and I either use the cover with the art to recover a pillow I already have, or I buy the inserts locally.

No inserts means no inserts just a printed pillow covering.

I can see how you might have thought that, Suzanne, because the word "cover" is not included in the description, as far as I can tell. Perhaps that ought to be changed.

Thanks you guys for the confirmation. Patricia, I'm glad you see it needs more explaination because I think others will be confused who are used to buying in brick and mortar stores. The terms "empty cover" or "empty pillow case, casing" or something to that effect needs to be included in the description it was not clear to me. I am going to purchase a pillow with stuffing for my nice customer and they can keep the "pillow case" at no charge. This is too much. I can understand this is for less shipping costs but it needs better a description.

Yes, it should be pillow cover WITH insert, or WITHOUT insert. With maybe a pic of the actual insert, which in most cases is just a pillow shaped hunk of white polyester.

Good idea Joy. The description needs a picture or at least consistency of terms to make it clear what it is you are buying. It needs to be clear that an insert is the stuffing and without an insert means just an empty pillow case.

Hum on a side note could one use cotton candy as an insert?

Yes photo with zipper open showing pillow with insert and then one flat stating without insert.

Jeffery are you hungry or do you just have a sweet tooth?!!! Yes a picture as you describe would be very good since language can also be a barrier on this site.

LOL no but Cotton Candy is nice and fluffy.

I haven't ordered a pillow so not sure but can it have scotch guard sprayed on them to help protect them from dirt and water.

When the pillows were furst offered I ord'd my wife a 14x20, without the insert. Went to Walmart and found an insert (in the bedding section of course), that fits perfectly in that sized cover. Walmart labels it as a Travel Pillow, and it cost about $3.00, including tax. This was when the original material was poly-poplin, and s/h was $5.

Is the current material still the cotton stuff?

I bught mine (2) without inserts and stuffed them with 2 unused pilloes that came with my couch.
Now they're pretty and being used. And i have more room in the coat closet where they were stored.

Maybe it would be clearer if they offered "pillow" or "case without pillow".

Greg, Thanks for the info, Walmart's travel pillow would probably be good for the smallest size. A customer ordered their pillow on Houzz 18 X 18 size. Since I ordered the pillow from here myself I and assumed as they did the pillow came with stuffing (I wrote the description on Houzz). I just ordered them another pillow and told them to keep their pillow case so they will have a pair. Hopefully they will see me as a good vendor, the word of mouth advertising will help me.

Melany, glad to hear your pillows fit the pillow covers and solved your storage problem.

Kathleen, I hope Sean sees your description and he will consider adding it to the pillow order information.

I'm going to close this discussion because I think everyone has confirmed and contributed good ideas that can be included in the pillow description. I appreciate your help very much.
