Need Help With Art Work

Hello, I want to ask if there are any artists out there who could give me some feedback on my work. I live out in the sticks in Thailand so I don't get any feedback about my paintings. Also over the past 2 years I have been playing around with different 'styles' and themes. I have about 40 paintings on my page that show what I have been trying out. If you have a minute can you tell me which ones you think are successful and I should focus on developing more.... I enjoy making all of the types of paintings that I have been making but I feel like I want to get more focused.

Stephen, what truly lovely work! I adore your Sacred Elephant but it is all excellent. You is an artist! (As we say here in UK)

Tree.Tree. Good style on both. These images in my opinion would appeal to a broader market. There are a lot of fish in the ocean (meaning a lot for sale, but perhaps your style will set itself apart from everyone else. Skulls? A small market indeed.

Stephen, your elephants are excellent but you don't have any descriptions. These are helpful for visitors interested in the image and also for Google.

Thanks Gary u have some amazing pictures.
Thanks Abbie, I am originally from the north west of England too, Liverpool, love your horses.
Thank you Danl, this is the type of feedback I really need and appreciate, peoples' informed opinions can really help me to choose a suitable path to follow. People seem to like colorful expressive semi abstract stuff that has a recognizable element, I think, need more feedback.
Thanks Margaret, you are right I really need to start writing descriptions, I never know what to say though? You have so so much beautiful work!

Nice work Stephen! It seems you have a handle on what sells, I see images that are found on other POD sites. I try to look at FAA and other POD best sellers images regularly to study the type of images that are selling and often end up on the artist's profile page and study keywords and other information like descriptions of work.

Hi Suzanne, thank you for feedback, I really appreciate it. what is a POD site? All of the images I make hold an interest for me, apart from the few portraits I have done. Although there is definitely an unavoidable element of wanting to sell and make money from the paintings I am more interested in making the art than selling it. I want to know what people think of the stuff I have made, what stuff stands out, am I better at semi abstract expressive stuff, or tighter finer images.

I want, eventually, to be able to tell stories symbolically, I want to one day be able to communicate universal and philosophical truths through my paintings. Now what approach is better for achieving this? Can that be done better through abstract or more realistic images?

That is a good idea about how to get effective keywords and descriptions.

Hi Stephen.
You have some really nice images there.
I would start to think about putting them into galleries and make the galleries your opening page.It makes it easier for people to find what they are looking for .
Don't forget your descriptions and keywords to help your images to be found. You can have the best images but if no one can find them it is a waste.
Also don't forget to promote yourself on social media.

Hi Roy, thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it. I have taken your advice and set Galleries as my homepage. I am also slowly trying to write descriptions for each painting.

Hi Susan thank you for your positive feedback.

Really nice work - I have 'liked' a few, fav'd a couple. Only one "negative" - your Crocodile looks more like a Gator - and if marketed to the Gator Nation - might do well - it is missing it's breathing nostrils - but that's sort of minor.

Thanks for the info Abbie.

Thank you for feedback Roy, that is the kind of info I really appreciate. I was trying to create a dragon and made a few sketches of alligators and crocs for inspiration, I really liked one of the sketches so I turned it into that 'Aligator' painting (I have changed the name) I was really interested in using stencils to create an image, so I made a positive and negative stencil of the gator and then applied paint in various ways, then I sketched over the top of it with black paint. I was still thinking of adding more swirls and colors to the background.... I will definitely get more clued up on gators and crocs from now on and make a few more images. Thanks for the valuable info.
