very clever Marlene! I went through the slide show twice but no Van Gogh!

Alfred.....I'd venture a guess as to why...he's probably THE artist that the most people would recognize as a famous artist.....sad commentary on the culture bar for our society today....

OR, maybe they want you to google the artist for a commplete collection and find the van Gogh!
WAIT!
Here ya go...about 15 rows down....

Fantastically clever. Pop culture then and now!

Nice mashup!

Suzanne Powers

Clever and well done! Do you think if a Van Gogh image was in there it would affect the sale of his prints?! It's more like marketing for his work.

Very Cindy Sherman. Nice find.

It works well, but I wonder how it is selling?

I'd really like to know how the artist sells? Might be full of insights for me.

I need wiki right about now.

Quick Google...Bernardo is on Behanced as most of us know is part of Adobe PS.

He is on Tumblr. I have no clue where he is selling his work. Not yet anyway.

He is using some stuff where the original artist has not been dead 70 years.

And I wonder how he gets permissions for using the magazine covers.

He has much more on Behanced.

oh he is out of the Philippines. I do not know how he regards copyright laws.

Dave

PS I am getting the feeling Conde Nast recruited him to create some publicity for them. All their magazine covers.

Here's a great article about the man who created these mashups....
I am thrilled that some understand his challenge.
I find it sad, that some only have 'sales' as a rule of value and creativity.
oh well. lol

It is the Conde Nast show, it is all about sales. The artist had the idea, but he is getting most of his permissions
from Conde Nast, if you google you will not find one print for sale. Instead huge numbers of stories on Conde
Nast magazine covers.

His problem solving is very good. I do appreciate that.

I wish he could sell them. I am not sure he has control over that at all.

I don't give a rat's ass if he sells them or not...he makes me think. i appreciate his creativity. i like his proposals. many of his compilations are seamless and downright entertaining!
Mag covers are already pop culture....I highly doubt they need his input to promote their visibility....any more than the classics need him....but. oh, what a pairing~

My comments do not reduce his accomplishments. Why would you take them that way?

We are discussing this like adults openly right?

Dave

Very clever!

when creativity is reduced to money/sales .....that's precisely why I am taking them the way I am taking them.
But, so be it.
Tell us, Dave, how are your sales?

David Bridburg

I have no sales and I feel I am very creative.

It is only in your mind that talk of sales makes these images worth less.

Sad.

His problem solving is very well done. Do not equate Conde Nast's economic control with the value of the work.
Your mistake.

As for attacking, I should say rudely chiding me over my lack of sales that is just low. You can now apologize.

I was making a point. Apology not offered.
If you feel insulted, it might be time to move on to another thread.

David Bridburg

So you are now going to stop seeing the artist's lack of economic control as diminishing his achievement?

The least I can expect from you.

Dave

I no longer have any clue what you are speaking about.
Furthermore, I have no desire to continue this side bar...you have my permission to get the last word in...if you need it to feel that you have won.

David, leave the thread now please.
