New Member Looking For Advice

Hi All,

Fairly new here but I am looking for help... I am afraid I may be missing something very important in my gallery/website.

How does it look is tehre anything I ca do to increase sales? I want to work on creating more valid galleries so viewers can jump straight to their favourite art style.

Is there anything else I am missing?

Thanks

Yep, resize the logo, and go a little lighter on the colors of your bio text. Me personally, I find the stark black background jarring, but I know there are many who like it just fine.

Abbie gave you a bunch of good reading to start with, also if you search the forums for "marketing" you'll get a zillion results. Remember this place is a platform for you to sell your work, you have to get out there and do the marketing yourself. Send buyers to your site.

Welcome, and best of luck with your work, looking good so far!

Welcome aboard and best of luck to you.

Here is some good reading for you. At the rate you work should have them read in about 28 seconds! lol

start people in galleries first. your work looks nice, but you should raise your prices.

the hard part about selling your stuff here is for the most part - it looks like stock. and because of that, few livingrooms will get the work. unless there is a theme some place like eggs or breakfast, i can see some of them selling. but it has that stock feel, and because of that i may look off site to see if i can get it cheaper as stock.

Art Prints
i'm not sure how many rooms in a house a egg against white will work in.... the compression on this site doesn't help that background at all btw. nothing you can do about that though. you have very few keywords on this - fresh, oval, ovaloid, breakfast, hard boiled, easter etc are words you should use.

the link you sent with all the links in the bio - is confusing and very hard to read. keep the bio focused to the art you make, not the products you sell.

the biggest issue you have right now - your galleries and your total images do not add up. 950 images vs i think about 200 or less in galleries. which means a buyer would miss most of your work. and they are not going to search (probably not), or wade through the work.

Photography Prints
the other thing i'd work on are your titles. they are very generic sounding. though this will break the link, it just sounds too dry and stock like.

beyond that you have to advertise yourself.

Mike, please do not add why YOU feel work will not sell unless it is a technical issue. Nobody here has any idea what a customer would buy or not buy when they see it. I have asked you before.

eg the egg may very well sell for a kitchen, farm shop or even someone with an egg fetish. You have NO way of knowing.

i have a pretty good way of knowing, i look at a lot of stuff. its hard to know what to say to increase the sales without expressing my view point...

Mr. Williams had his logo there before, maybe he's editing it to fit. Just because FAA hosts the Artist Website page doesn't mean you have to brand it with the FAA logo.

Mine doesn't have it, most don't.
