Fyi...an Old Member Of Faa, Carson Collins...passed Away...
I read last night on FB that Carson Collins has passed away. I see his work is no longer on faa...but for some reason I thought he still deserved a mention here.
He painted his "Ocean Series" inspired by Rothko...I use to enjoy viewing them in his threads...they are fantastic!
That is sad to hear. I think that is very considerate of you to post this thread, even though he is a former member, it's nice that you thought of him. Not sure I ever had the chance to interact with him, I will go look at his work now.
Shana...thank you. He was a very smart and talented man...some here understood him, some didn't...I got along with him well and enjoyed looking at his work as well as reading the works of his mind.
I don't know, Kev...as far as FB...he was born in 53...but maybe Lina knows cause of death...I think she knows someone (Judy) who was very close to him...and on his FB page there's the woman whose house he was in when he died...she'd know.
That's very sad. I encountered him years ago on the About.com painting forums where he was known as "Hamlet". Quite a character with an exceptionally strong artistic vision.
