I want to see your favorite work. Not the best seller, what YOU love! What made you almost cry when you created it. I tear up with the prospect of selling it. I want to see yours! Post it!

This is my favorite.....We rescued Kiana from a kill shelter in Colorado. She had been there for over 6 weeks and her time was up! I couldn't have that, so I got ahold of a local rescue group and told them I would go get her and foster her until she found a forever home! My husband and I drove 3 hours one way to pick her up and she was with us for 2 days. I knew she had found her forever home. We adopted her! Rescue dogs are the best! Adopt ~ Don't Shop!

I didn't paint for almost half a year, not sure what kind of mood blocked me... Actually, I wanted to do it, still had a lot of great ideas, but felt it not easy to focus, or might have been there was some interruption going on... I was told that some artists went through this kind of period, could be shorter or longer... So, I did not worry too much, and waited until I finally finished this still life painting.
A collector from England bought this original one immediately after I had just finished :D!

Shirley - I looked at some of your other floral watercolors. It must have been difficult to choose a favorite. What caused you to select this example out of so many beautiful ones?
I just joined the site yesterday, so I have lots to learn. Here is my favorite photo from 2013:

As you can see, I don't know how to load the image directly into the thread. Help!
Take care,

This is my favorite. I took it on my birthday last year. I was a little depressed and so I got my tripod, my camera and went out to the boat docks. I hardly knew how to use the tripod and I almost knocked it and the camera into the water..but didn't and just laughed. I watched this guy working on his boat and this is what I needed up with....I love the darn thing.

For me it is my last painting, The Resurrection, which I finished earlier this month. Acrylic onto stretched canvas (large). This will probably be used to illustrate a children's bible story as well as Easter cards.
I first saw the garden tomb in a vision several years ago (during a church service) and quickly sketched it. I was overwhelmed when I saw it for real when I visited Jerusalem last year. Almost exactly as I had visualised it.

This is my favorite capture. I was taking shots at a local pond and a father brought his son up and started teaching him how to fish with a kids fishing pole. I held up my camera to him and he nodded to go ahead and I caught a special moment between the two of them. If you look closely you can see the fish about to bite the hook. I love this photo because my kids have all left home and it brings back memories of the special moments we shared when they were young.
I feel honored to have been able to capture a special moment of theirs.

I've always loved this photo I took late one hot and humid August night of stargazer lilies in full bloom. We could smell their pungent fragrance from 20 feet away.

Ya know, in all honesty it is the one I will create tomorrow.
(I always think I can outdo myself, tomorrow.)

My favorite is this one called the Exodus Gateway...
For the fact that everyone has a Guardian Angel to guide them every step of the way.
All you have to do is call upon them and believe...

I do both painting and photography so I'll post my favorite of each. The digital artwork is my favorite because after working hard on understanding surface planes and portraits, things seemed to finally come together in this painting. My style is getting stronger, and it has really boosted my confidence for my next artwork. My favorite photograph is a bit more difficult to choose, but I think it is this photograph of a leopard. I love how much she reminds me of my own house cats.

I live in a beach resort area and some of my favorite photos are, of course, beach related. However, there is a recently opened new bridge near my home that is an incredible piece of infrastructure/architecture. It has become one of my favorite photo "places" and I have sold a variety of photographs of the bridge. My absolute favorite is one of my first night shots of the bridge, taken in December of 2013. The Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the Indian River Inlet on the coast in Southern Delaware.
To help promote my photos of the area I created a small website and a related Facebook Page.

My favorite work in painting is my Judaic series because the process is very different from my regular abstract work.
I studied each subject, translations and commentary texts and often used musical interpretations of the prayers to listen to as I worked.
Each painting is accompanied by a full text with the Hebrew interpretation in addition to the translation and my interpretation as an artist.

Right now, I think this one is my favorite nature shot.
I was trying to get the skipper before it fluttered off (again), and it wasn't until after I had the shot that I realized there were bees in it as well. Nice little bit of serendipity that made the photo more interesting.
Outside of my nature photos, I love the fireworks best. July 4th is almost here! Can't wait to start shooting again!

'Antiquity's Gold' is my favorite work. (Though, of course, I have other favorites, too.).
This piece turned out exactly as I had originally envisioned it, and has received consistently great feedback wherever I show or list it. It's been purchased in a wide variety of sizes and finishes, on various substrates, and has been my best-selling abstract worldwide -- both online and in the real world.
Unexpectedly (or, perhaps typically), it has never sold here at FAA. C'est la vie!

This is a painting I especially love. I made it when I lived in Switzerland and it surprised me, how much unusual patience I managed to gather for doing the tree blossoms like that. The lake in the original painting was greenish. I'll upload it too (on my "sunsets" page) so you can see how it used to be. It corresponded with my mood just then - a rather sad period of time in my life. A few years ago, I knew I wanted to change it - and I'm so happy with this lovely turquoise of the lake now! It hangs over my bed so I can look at it every day. Although I love many of my paintings, this one has a special personal meaning for me, partly because I find it truly beautiful somehow, and partly, because for me, it signifies transformation, the dark side of life uplifted by light, those white flowers, the lovely waters of the lake...

I really love this one. And I almost didn't get it. I'd been chasing ships locked my keys in the car earlier in the day and was headed home. I was annoyed and just wanted to be done with the day. I called a fellow boatnerd and who told me to get down to Belle Isle to catch a couple of boats coming off Lake Saint Clair. After some prodding, I agreed to meet him there and this is the result.

When forced to choose one I always come to this photo. I created this image over 5 different exposures using my new found (at the time) knowledge of HDR. This is the very first photo I printed and just thought "I had made this?" Of course I have made technically better photos this one is my favorite. The boat is unfortunately far gone now and does not make a good photo so even if I wanted I could not remake this.

How do you choose - I'm seldom in love with any of my 'creations' or even my paintings or photographs - certainly I've never had an epiphany over any of them - some I really really like - but they were all made for sale, with a few made for gifts, but I never am sad when one sells. This is one of my very favorites - and - well - it's so small - I don't ever expect to sell one.

Isn't this is bit like asking which of your kids you love best? ; ) I really try not to post images I don't love, but I guess the shots featuring my children are my favorites.
Especially this one from our trip to Florence last summer--having my kids with me in my favorite city in the world for the very first time was about as good as it gets.

This has to be one of my top 3 favorite works.... I remember the day I took it thinking, "Oh cool, a lizard I think I will try to get a picture." But I was in hurry and I had a kit lens on. I got home and little did I know much I would love it. I don't really remember taking the actual photo because I was in rapid fire as I leaned in to get close to this creature. I was very surprised at how focussed it would be.

How do you post the picture? I like my colonial grave yard. One reason being I really like Gothic style art. But, also because of the history of that place. Just knowing how those grave stones broke and how those who witnessed the revolution are buried in there.

Isn't it funny how sometimes you don't necessarily like one of your images but everyone else does?

Shirley.......I finished one today that is not one of my favorites. I started another which I hope I like better

hopefully the link works. But this is of my favorites that I have uploaded. Reason being the history behind it. This cemetery dates back to the 1750s. One of the Constitutions signers lays rest in here. This place has survived wars, several city fires, looting and grave destruction by the Union Army. Some graves have had new dates carved in them making whoever lays under the stones about 1000 when they died lol. The people that built this great city (Savannah) lay rest here. This cemetery is said to be one of the most haunted locations in this country and has been on multiple tv shows. It Is just a neat place. Its history.
