Digital Downloads

Is there a way where my clients can buy digital downloads rather than prints?

Make sure you are filling in the prices on the image page at the bottom of the edit page and then send your clients to licensing.pixels.com

I'm double checking that link now

The licencing are downloads. Do you trust your customers enough to give them your full sized images?

I want my clients to be able to purchase prints OR purchase digital downloads instead. Is that possible?

What do you want your clients to do with the digital downloads?

I want them to be able to purchase downloads for their own commercial and promotional usage. If I do a shoot for somebody who needs the pic for promotional reasons, they don't necessarily want to purchase prints.

So, yeah, that would be what the licencing thing is for, commercial and promotional usage. Of course, since you're apparently already in direct contact with these clients you don't really need to include FAA at all.

Ok Joseph. I went to that link and typed in a title to one of my pieces. It did not come up. What am I doing wrong?

I think if they are your clients you should just sent them the image file directly and keep all the profit yourself.at least no need to wait for at least a month to be paid.

I may just do that Alfred, since they don't allow for the purchase of digital downloads. They really should!!!

I had a client buy digital downloads today, but I do that from a different site

they can purchase one frame or when I charge for the time they can download all images

you can set different things for different reasons

FAA isn't set up for that as they cater to a different market

Noreen,

If you are a "commercial" photographer as stated in your Bio, you should know this. They, the clients, want to use/license your image and that has nothing to do with FAA and shouldn't. You need to learn the business end of this and see how you do this and what to charge them, for their "usage".

This also doesn't make sense " I may just do that Alfred, since they don't allow for the purchase of digital downloads. They really should!!!"

just be sure that if your selling a persons face, or property of some kind, you have the proper permissions from them.

and i agree with alfred, you don't need a site to sell your stock if you have a hot lead. you'll need a contract, outline what they can do with it, any restrictions, set the price, get paid, and upload to them. if its large use WeTransfer.com and use that to upload.

the site makes it easier, but you should just sell directly when you can.

Noreen, once you put in prices for licenses your customers can buy downloads here: http://licensing.pixels.com/profiles/noreen-berman.html

If you have a "work for hire" contract with a client then I'd just give them a CD with the images on it. Other wise the photos remain the property of the photographer to be negotiated.

Most of the professional galleries I see on CreativeLive advise selling the work in person - prints are purchase through the photographer, never online.

Like I said, you have to put in the prices. Go to one of your images, click edit image and the scroll down to the bottom of the page for the boxes to put in prices.
