Has The Full Server (and / Or Other Problems) Been Fixed?

I have not uploaded new images in quite some time. I was going to start this week.

But a number of problems have been reported in these forums, and in a recent thread, this from Abbie:

"We have a full server I think. This will be fixed shortly. We have an urgent notice sent up"

Has it been fixed?

Obviously if not, this is not the time to upload new items.

I have been uploading all last week and didn't hit any problems. The thumbnail issue previously reported seems to have been cleared up or in the process. Abi has posted to say the problem should be fixed.

You should be fine.

I have uploaded 180 images in the last 60 days without a single issue....

BTW, that is 232 new images since your last upload Dan, put another way, around a grand in revenue generated from those 232 images and around six months of percolating for the older ones....

Thank you for your replies. They are helpful

However, it should be noted I am not posting about problems but rather responding to numerous reports of images not showing, images disappearing, etc.

Most noteworthy, tho, Is Abbie's post about a potential full server and a fix "soon." I know from experience a server upgrade, or a server addition and configuration, is not something handled quickly.

Because of the number of exhibitors on FAA, I would assume exhibitors are spread across numerous servers. Obviously, this could be the reason you are not experiencing problems while others are.

If that is the case, would it be possible to identify which server(s) are being reported as problematic (disappearing images, etc.) and which server(s) are potentially full?

Dan no, not possible I'm afraid.... I see some issue are reported fixed now but the icons on group and contests are still not showing.

However, no issues on uploads

i haven't had issues with uploading. i still have broken thumbnails when i do a search entering contests.

Thank you for your reply, Abbie. That is a very informative answer.

I assume your reply:

Is in reply to my question whether individual servers which may be having problems can be identified.

This seems to say that yes, there are multiple servers and is an answer to why some users seem to experience problems while others do not. (I.e., they are on different servers).

Is this correct?

I have a thread that I WILL KEEP OPEN, for people like me, who experienced/ are still experiencing image problems (specifically, missing ones in thumbnails and galleries.)

Thank you. Yes, I am aware of that thread. It is one of the threads that generated my query here.

In fact, it's curious. I could have sworn your thread was the one where Abbie commented about a potential full server. However, I cannot find that comment now. Perhaps it was removed or edited, or perhaps it is in a different thread. I don't know.

I don't recall seeing that comment..it might be in the thumbnail image problem thread.....I opened mine because it is a different problem.

Regardless,
I think the issue is more about who cares if elves came in the middle of the night and stole images? As paying customers of this site, we don't care why...we only care that the site runs seamlessly.

Thank you, Abbie. Again, that is very useful info.

Because users can be on different servers, that means that when someone posts about problems and others post they are having none, although we are always very thankful for feedback from users, theoretically those who are reporting no problems can be ignored because they may be on a different server.

Sorry, forgot to thank you for being honest about a potential full server. If it is, it would be nice to know about it because as mentioned above, expanding a server or bringing up a new one is not something usually accomplished quickly and those on that server may experience problems while upgrades are pending.

This will be closed now. The original query has been addressed.

As Abbie stated, info about which servers are experiencing problems and which are not is not available from FAA.

So it appears that the only way to determine that is to upload images. If you're on a problematic server or if you are not will be revealed.

A quick tech note to all. If you are having problems editing, uploading, displaying it might be best to notify tech support as opposed to only posting in the forum.

Because users are on different servers, replies in threads about who is and is not experiencing problems is basically useless. But tech support can identify your individual server and pass the problem report on.
