Cool Doc: The Other One: The Long Strange Trip Of Bob Weir

A friend turned me on to this doc & it's streaming on Netflix. I wasn't into the Dead much, but this doc is a great glimpse into that very special moment in time.

And geez, I didn't know Jerry Garcia was only 53 when he died. He looked like he was closing in on 80. That heroin garbage must really age a man.

I left work the day he died. I couldn't stand listening to him being maligned by insensitive jerk co-workers who thought they were being clever. I'd started going when I was a teen and went often for the next 25 years, right up until he stopped playing.

Oh, I had great respect for what they accomplished. Wished I could have seen them in person once. But, I did get to hear dozens of live mixing board DAT recordings that a deadhead friend would play every time we were hangin out with his nitrous tank. ;)
