Never Sold Anything

I've been a part of this site for a few years now. I have never sold anything. I keep thinking that maybe my work is just terrible, or I am doing something wrong. Any suggestions?

You've been hear years and have 10 images uploaded. Also, I see one image uploaded in 2011 that has 22 views. That tells me that you are not promoting yourself. What are you doing to market yourself?

Your body of work is much too small and some of the images you have uploaded are very blurry and will not print. Not being mean just an opinion. I have been on here for awhile and I have made only a few sales but its a long haul not a quick race. Concentrate on producing more work, getting better and more consistent with. Keywording, descriptions, etc are all important. Marketing yourself is a full time job!

A few years and you still haven't uploaded an avatar? I have to question your commitment to selling.

you have no avatar, no bio, only a few pictures, no images on galleries.

Art Prints
this image is not printable. you have no usable keywords

Photography Prints
you have no descriptions, need more tags -- buy a scanner and scan these.

if you uploaded and left, you won't sell anything. you have to market it. your images for the most part aren't printable and people will pass by if its soft. you have no avatar, so you won't show up in the search at all from my understanding. you have to tell us and google what these images are.

Photography Prints
you have to know this isn't in focus right?

there is very little point in having two galleries, especially when one repeats in there. better to have them all in one place, lose the galleries. you need a lot more work posted.

Sell Art Online
out of focus. it may sell if it was in focus - the description should be about the piece not that it was fun or for a friend. again you have very few tags

Photography Prints
this has major glare issues. again the description should be about the piece, and no hoping that we like it

Thank you for the comments. This is the kind of constructive criticism that I need. Sounds like I've got some learning and major work to do. Thank you all!

rotate your avatar so your up and down. and get something where it doesn't look like your being taken by aliens. and not have your hand in front of your face. the picture of you represents the first thing people see in your store and some will judge on that alone.

You're still sideways. When you turn an image you have to save it the right way round before uploading
Edit: nevermind you got it

You still have your page set to default to galleries and now don't have any. Set it to images.

What they all said.

I believe you have made some good art, and could have a chance to sell it.

However, when trying to turn your art into a business.....making the art is MAYBE half of it, and the other half of things have pretty much been neglected. You are aware of that now, use the forums to learn and realize that just like anything, to make money you have to have talent, and then put in a great deal of time and effort.

This might help with your images. How to photograph your art.

Scanning is a great option.

Oh and if you just want this to be a hobby where you sell a few things, that is fine...but realize that you are in this great big mosh pit of FAA with a lot of professionals that are in this to make a living. That is your competition, and make no mistake it IS a competition for sales.

The saying goes: 10% talent, 90% marketing.

I spent more than half my time networking and marketing and learning how to market and making mistakes. It takes great skill to be efficient at marketing.
I also have a family to take care of so there is very little time left to create new work. Marketing is key to selling, but I'd you don't have product to sell it's wasted effort.

"Jennifer Henson has not created any image galleries."

It is hard to comment when there is nothing you have to offer in your gallery.

You should default on your images page since you have no galleries. It looks like you have no images at all! You have no followers and don't belong to any.
groups. You have no bio after being here for several years. You need to upload a lot more images!

Jani Freimann

She just needs to set the default to images instead of galleries. She has a few images.

What MD is saying is your artist link is set to default on "galleries" and you haven't created any. Change the default to images. Look for it in Artist Bio, Behind the Scenes.

We're all saying the same thing at the same time.

I'm working on these things now. I appreciate all the advice I can get, and I am going to get some fresh new pieces on here with better descriptions and photos. I lack in talent when it comes to marketing myself and giving good descriptions of my work. Now I know what I need to work on.

you also want to make a range of work. abstract is a very tough sell. too many have it already. try to make different themes and sets of images.
