Fusing Japanese Art Themes, Buddhism, Landscapes And English Christian Churches

Hello, relatively new to this place but I am trying to fuse Japanese art themes, Buddhism, landscapes and English Christian churches.

Not sure if many Japanese members in this place?

Just saying hello and hopefully I will get to know how to utilize Fine Art in America....

Sawako,

A big American welcome. I like your art a lot. I see some western influences in your perspectives.

I also see some Japanese perspectives. The work is an interesting fusion.

I studied a lot of art concepts and art history. My big weakness is Asian and Indian arts.
I am not specialized to have any sort of well founded opinions. I do not understand nor can I frame the
history of art in many of those eastern cultures.

That said I like your fusion. To many sales, good luck,

Dave

Hello Dave, thank you for the reply and in Japan - and other cultures, fusions come natural because Shintoism and Buddhism freely interlinks throughout
modern Japan.

I like northern English churches also because of tranquility and natural beauty.

Best wishes, Sawako

A wonderful fusion Sawako. Welcome. I have been influenced some by the Japanese idea of beauty, also enjoying the English gardens. Happy to see this

Hello L Cecka, please check the artist Kamisaka Sekka - maybe the last great Rimpa artist.

Have a lovely day (now afternoon time in Tokyo)

I wish you well...

Hello Sawako, I just want to say hello with one of your country's treasures that I found interesting, the kokeshi doll. I also blend East and West style in my own way.

I can see some of Kamisaka's influence in your work. :)

Hello John, thanks for contacting and yes, I really like Sekka. However, I played around with the Shinto shrine and the Buddhist monk.

Best wishes, Sawako

Konichiwa Sawako!
Im from the Philippines, and since were both asian. Im so much fascinated with Japanese culture and the arts. As you can see my avatar is of a "Geisha" Mask. Mixing the collective in art about the East and the West would be a great combination, a challenge and a beautiful outcome. So challenge your creativity Sawako. And welcome to FAA.

this artpiece was sold to a good friend of mine in the USA. Chris Capilla, his mom is Japanese and his dad is American. He bought the artwork as a gift for his mom on her 65'th birthday.

Hello Otil, thank you for your information and interesting stuff about your avatar.

Fusions and cultures can come alive if focused on the pure areas.

All the best, Sawako

Hello, Sawako! I've always admired Japanese and Asian art in general. I'd like to think my artwork has a slight Asian influence, especially in my desire for simplicity of line. I think it's great to fuse the various styles/subjects that appeal to you.

Hello MM Anderson, thanks for letting me know about what appeals to you.

Japan is often overlooked outside famous Japanese ukiyo-e artists but various styles exist and of course some individuals can't be put into a box. I really like Sekka and Saeki, they contrast greatly and of course Ike no Taiga and Gibon provide lovely natural themes based on simplicity but from two different angles.

Have a lovely weekend, Sawako

Hello Drew and Scott

Firstly, Drew, your influences seem really fascinating. Myself, I am influenced by pre-Tokugawa art mainly influenced by The Middle Kingdom (China) and Tokugawa period - and then the dynamics of the Meiji era.

Scott, I am glad you enjoyed Japan and I am sure you must have visited Tokyo and possibly other places like Kyoto and Nara?

I hope you both have a lovely day!
