Question About Artist Websites And Marketing

Here's the question I have. Can we use more than 1 domain name to be directed to the same AW, but have different set ups on the same AW site? Here's what I would like to do, have one of my domain names, richfrancocars.com pointed to my artist web site, with the galleries of cars showing first. Then have another domain that I own and have that name pointed to the same AW, but with a different gallery shown first and have the car stuff on the bottom?

If not possible, can I buy another premium site and separate my cars and the other stuff. I would move the car stuff to the new site and keep my landscape, flowers, mustangs, etc. on the old site?

You can get different domain names, then have them point to a specific gallery.
Just use that gallery link when you get the domain name to redirect.

I do it all the time in Twitter feeds... leading to different galleries.

Chuck, Heather,

I'm meaning individual gallery images, but this: right now, if you visit my site, ALL the cars are in galleries at the top and then my other stuff is below, so when I direct the car people, they see my cars first and don't have to bother with my other stuff. So richfrancocars.com is the address I give the car people. I want to do the same with my landscapes, mustangs, flowers, Florida, etc. and use a domain name that I already own, so when they click on that domain name, ALL my other stuff is on top and the cars are below.

Ideally, I would prefer to have another account here and keep the landscapes, florida, etc. on the existing AW and then pull the car stuff over to the new account and JUST have cars there!

I do that, Rich. I have two accounts; one is for Art Deco only.

Chuck,

Yes, That's what I want to do, but did you start with 2 accounts or split them later, that's the key, I certainly don't want to upload a few thousand images, again!

Nope, way to complicated for the simplicity that is the AW.

Rich, I left the one main AWS as it was and uploaded the Art Deco only AWS all over again. There were not that many pieces, but you have to copy and paste all the info, so it is a lot of work.

Heather,Chuck,

I was worried about that! I'm betting there's a way for Tech Support to do it, but I'm not gonna go through that work, I'll just start another site with one of my domain names I already own,

Thanks,

Rich

1.So let me make sure that I've got this right. There is no way, FAA can take a bunch of my galleries, over to another new AW and I'll be happy to pay for the second account, which would save me a ton of work, and then I will direct another domain name I own to that new FAA account? That can't be done???

2. OR can I organize my galleries, say all the car stuff at the top as you open it, which is how it is now with richfrancocars.com and then open the Gallery page again and then for this one, have everything else on the top and the cars below and direct another domain name to it,effectively now having 2 accounts, to the outside world?

Nobody from Corporate HQ is going to answer this?

Not that I want to do it, but that is a super cool idea. If they can help you what a great time saver!

Put all images you wish moving out of this account into one artwork gallery and then open the other account

When you have opened the other account, contact me direct here or in support and give me;

the link to the other account
the link to the gallery

Please note that this move can take up to a week

Hope that helps

Very generous of you to take the time to do that, Abbie. I am sure it will save Rich hours of work.

Abbie,

Thanks for the reply. So let me me sure I understand what I need to do. I will create a new account, "Rich Franco Cars" or such, and then create a new "Gallery" called "to new account", move all my images into the new gallery "folder"? How do I go about moving this many images to the new account. Do you mean get that new gallery full of the new/old images and THEN contact you to start the new account? And you will grab them. Obviously, you have my credit card, so that should be easy. I just don't understand how to start the new account AND move the new "gallery" folder into it?

Part 2. When you say this may take a week, I assume the old account will still be operational, correct? I really don't care HOW long this takes, since the time and labor saved is well worth ANY wait!

Part 3. Important! Will I be losing ANY history, rating, search function, views, etc. in this transaction? Will this be totally transparent?

Thanks again for this support. I think that this is potentially another profit center for FAA, since those here that have grown along with FAA may have the same situation as I do and need to break up their site and images to something more easily seen by buyers. I know that if this works, I'll never again have to explain to the Car people, that they are going to see "pretty flowers and horsies on my site! LOL! Artists here with Many,Many galleries will want to take advantage of this service..............I can think of a few!

You will.lose all likes and comments and your credit card does not go with you onto a new account. You need to treat it as a new account

It's pretty easy

Make a gallery
Add moving work to it

Create new account with a different email

Tell me the details I asked for.

Abbie,

does the loss of "likes and comments" effect the search results? How do I move a newly created gallery to a new account? I assume, it's never been done and there maybe no directions to do it correctly,

Thanks,

Rich

Abbie,

Still waiting for an answer to my questions. By your lack of an answer on the "likes and comments", should I assume that I am right and I would be put back on the end of the line?

It is a brand new account. It is treated as such.

Rich Franco

Abbie,

Yes the account is new, but the images aren't. Why can't ALL the info get tagged along with the images as they get transferred? I don't want to start from the bottom with my images after ALL these years,

Thanks,

Rich
