What Are Fedex Shipping Costs?

Fineartamerica sends the bought items via Fedex or UPS? As if these postal carriers are not cheap? How much do they charge on average for the shipping abroad? Not just 25$ but 250$ approximately. Is it true? Do buyers from abroad pay so much or more for these postal services?

The only way to get accurate FedEx shipping costs is to contact their website with the exact dimensions and weight of the package to be shipped..plug in the zip codes and voila!
Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that only regular print orders are now fulfilled in Europe..the rest are still shipped from the US and will have the same costs as always.

FAA has a printer in Scotland for European sales on some things now - prints, canvas, metals, cards... so the shipping is cheap for there now. They are working on other areas too. Shipping is expensive.

There is more than just prints Marlene though not sure what the whole list is right now. I am pretty sure canvases are produced in the EU for the EU market.

JC, since you are part of the 'in' in admin, you could probably help out by getting a definitive answer.
I'm sure all of our non US artists would LOVE to know!!

Shipping is complex. Fedx and UPS have deals with the regular postal service. I get package in my rural mailbox from UPS/FEDX depending on the service used. FEDX/UPS like using the postal service for that last few miles.

For really large shipments common carrier is the way to go. I had a 200 pound pinball machine shipped to me from NJ once for $60.

Last year we got emails for metal, canvas, paper prints, and greeting cards being produced in the UK - I believe the printer is in Scotland not Ireland.

I think what's still missing (i.e. fulfilled in the US) is acrylic prints and framed prints. I think the Special promotions, even though they are canvas, are also actually still a US produced-shipped item.

Ed, really large art shipments have to go freight..and once art goes freight, it has to be in a crate. It also impacts insurance.
been there, done that nightmare.

I have heard that Fedex or UPS just hand in the mail to some other postal carries. If that is true then what is the sense in using them if they do not ship up the sender's address and it is some other postal cariere who does it? Am I right? I imagined that for example Fedex has world wide net of Fedex postal delivery cars and centers. Isn't it so? However I have never seen Fedex cars in my city but they operate in my country.

The package needs to get across the ocean somehow, most likelly the FedEx or UPS plane to the county of destination. After that I guess it might be a local post office depending on the country of destination.

So you pay Fedex or UPS much money to be protected but finaly it is the cheapest post that deals with your package? Very dissuading if it is really true.

If the cheapest post office does not fly the package across the ocean how would you get it?

There are such options that both cheaper and more expensive post carriers fly across ocean.
