Gallery Background Color

Just wondering...I don't suppose there is any way to change the default background color of an individual gallery page from white to black? Paintings and illustrations created on white paper would display better if they were on a dark background.

black is hard on the eyes when you look at something white like paper. you don't want to cause eye strain in people. white on black vibrates, and on some screens may cause ghosting due to how they are lit.

you need to fix your cropping - they won't print it like this, the scans look good though.

BArbara,
just give the light mages a border to make them stand out from the white background. White text on black is very difficult to read, especially when you consider that many customers look on their smart phones and ipads....

Yes, I do hear you Mike in regards to cropping. The are a few painting(s) such as the one you referred to which are hundreds of miles away in storage. Having had no plans to offer prints on a website when taking pictures of them-- I almost didn't include them -- and will maybe just remove them. I have already pushed the envelope a bit too far, cropping the edges until compromising the sharpness.

I agree with you and Marlene regarding the background. I thought about adding thin borders around the ones with white background but have been a bit hesitant on that idea.

Thanks for the input, Mike and Marlene. The bounceback of thoughts is greatly appreciated!
