Phone Case Question

Given that Samsung and Apple release new phone designs every several months or so, are the phone cases able to fit every incarnation of iPhones and Galaxy phones that come along?

James, if you'll notice, there are 8 choices of cases in a drop down menu on any phone case page...5 iPhone cases and 3 Samsung Galaxy cases. New phones don't come out every few months...more like every 18 months or so. I'm sure Sean will keep up with the new phones and cases as they're released...at least the iPhones and Galaxies.

Oh, duh! Thanks for pointing out what I was too dense to notice.

Now for a follow up question. Since the drop-down list includes both Apple and Samsung phones, is it really necessary to list iPhone cases and Galaxy cases separately on our image pages? With more products being offered displaying the phone case twice just adds to the clutter, I think.

I would imagine if Sean wants to have cases for tablets or other brand phones, he'll have an icon image for them too. Not sure. Guess we'l just have to see what the future holds :)

I was going to post a different question but it fits well enough here:

Why is the range so incredibly limited? In my house we happen to have Sony Xperia phones (with superb cameras, by the way): three different types. I can't actually buy one of my own cases for my own phone or my kids' phones, and find myself apologising to potential customers who cannot find theirs either.

A quick internet search threw up a UK site (I'm in the UK) offering a huge range for half the price ... and you can upload your own picture. I am left thinking I should simply advertise that as an option?

My point is, either do the cases or not - but having such a paucity of choice is disappointing. But I'd welcome knowing about the rationale. Thanks.

Walmart's success comes from not offering every niche product but the most popular/bestselling ones.

80/20 rule in play. 80 percent of the sales are going to be among 20 percent of the brands.

Clever answer, but untrue. Walmart's success famously comes from having a superbly slick supply chain process that delivers what its customers want. I suggest you look at their range of cell phone cases! http://www.walmart.com/browse/cell-phones/cases-protectors/1105910_133161_132890

Those to brands cover 70% of the market.

You get diminished returns if you add more.
