Understanding The Custom Size For Pillows, Tote Bags, Etc

Hi,

When the customer orders an item that can be custom sized, they have to use the size bar to show the image the way they want it on the item, correct?
So even if you upload another image to "fit" the item, how do you know what imagei size will fit the item? I tried to upload another image for the tote bag, but it was the same size
as the original upload, so it looked the same, as before and had to be adjusted with the size bar. I just want to understand how this works and why there is an upload feature.

Gay, I would like to help if I can, but I'm not understanding your question.

edited to add...you don't need to upload another image to fit the item. You can use the bars to stretch or contract the image to look the way you want it, and if there is a border around your contracted image, Pixels has provided a matching color for the border so it won't look unfinished.

To add to what Joy said, you'll want to look at your image sizing for products the way you would for a print--if FAA prints at 100 dpi, you'll need file dimensions of at least 1300x1300 in order to fully cover a 13x13 bag, an 1800x1800 for an 18x18 bag or pillow, etc.

i think that bar that we adjust, scales with the image

For some of my pattern graphics I have uploaded a separate version with a smaller scale repeated in the same area for the duvet covers so the pattern won't look so huge printed on them. I've also noticed that I can't get square images to fill the phone on the back end so I might make rectangular versions for those if they don't get fixed.

Ok,
Thanks for your help everyone.

I didn't think adjusting with the bar made the image stay the way that I had set it. I thought the customer could still set the background colors and size the image.

This is a very recent change (the artist being able to adjust their image and having the change 'stick') See Sean's sticky posts at the top of the discussion forum. But I believe the customer can still re-adjust the image and/or change the background color to their liking.

Okie Dokie then.

So just to verify.... We are NOT supposed to use the slider to fill the duvet with the image ( upsizing ? )

Ruh Roh... back to the drawing board....

I asked about resizing images for duvets when the new uploader first came out. Abbie replied that it was now ok to use images smaller than 5000x5000 and that they would still print. Presumably that means that the 100ppi rule no longer applies to the new products.

The 100ppi thing is the same for prints but products may be made now with your smaller images enlarged only by using the slider. Still do not enlarge your own images in photo editors. If they still do not fit with the slider then I'm afraid they just do not fit
