oh it's a whip lol, I am kind of a square actually so it's kind of weird I make paintings like this, maybe I need to research things more

you'll need to make one with a horse head. pony play is a weird and real thing. i'm not into that though. spiked dog collars and all other things are totally usable in this weird world.

hmmm.. one with a horse head, one that looks like the god father?

Is there some good reason - or not - that the "male" is a dog and the "lady" is a cat?

Two food dishes:
One says "CAT" or "HERS" on it, with a very chewed tennis ball in it, and possibly a fork stuck in the tennis ball.
The other says "DOG" or "HIS" on it, a spilled open bag of catnip in it, and possibly a spoon sticking out of the bag of catnip.

A dog collar, and a cat collar, attached together by the same leash-- no handle end on the leash, just two ends that have collar attachments.

The collars could have heart shaped pet tags that say something appropriate on them... PUPPY and KITTY might be a bit banal.

Good idea Marlene, well Roy I am more of a cat person and female. I have 6 cats and only 1 dog, My husband is more of the dog person :)

I used to have this great toy for my cat that I think would work well for play in this image. It was a stick with a string and a feather at the end; obviously the feather is something that would be used for play in bed!

Leave it as is...whatever your do will distract from the focal point

It is impossible to suggest anything without seeing the EXACT visual appearance of the painting that you already have.

I need to see how much space is there. What is already in it? How does it relate to all the other visual elements.

It's like asking somebody to read your mind. Show us the WHOLE surface that already exists.

Otherwise, I can only agree with Monsieur D. -- to leave it as is.

I like the idea of a couple of collars draped over the headboard. Anything more it becomes a I Spy game.

Update: I decided to use the book idea on How To Train Your Dog, thought it was a funny addition someone thought of here. Here is the pic which I tried to include the whole painting this time so you can see the space I wanted to fill next to the kitty. I only have a few hours left in this piece till it's done

i wonder if there should be a slight shadow behind he bed rails, it seems flat there compared to the rest. while you don't have much time, the book seems large and crowded in there.
