This is a tough one, there are so many good candies.
Almond Joys are good. Then there's Mallo Cups, but you don't see them around much.

Haribo Gummy Bears. I used them to break my chocolate addiction, and now I'm addicted to them! lol

In theory, if your self control is adequate, you can have plenty of candy, you just have to reduce your carb and fat intake in other parts of your diet.
I say this strictly from a theoretical point of view. I like the dark chocolate m&m flavors.

Oh, Dave You just reminded me.
Did you find me on google, I was laughing so hard to see this Asian girl with blonde hair prancing around named Hyoyeon or something like that. and many Japanese named Hyoye very odd. I am full blooded Korean and my grandfather gave me this name before I wasn't even born Hyoye, Son is my last name. this is me in FAA and I have another photo with the hat that I took last year or so.
Reason asking Dave,
you said on the other thread you looked me up on google.

Hyoye,
I do not know if I found you on Google. I found you somewhere yesterday.
The thing is I added over 110 friends on FB yesterday. LOL
I added a few on G+ as well.
I added many of Linkedin as well.
I am blinded by how many Friends and contacts I have been adding.
I like you so you count, but the others I at times dont know at all.
This is like being lost in a blizzard.
Hyoye, at least you have a real name. My last name is a total fiction. We were in hiding, which must have
worked because some of us are still here. No joke.

Anything with dark chocolate. & hazelnuts, toffee, coconut, marshmallow, peanut butter, caramel .... added in.
Have you ever tried homemade Rainbow cookies ? They are also referred to as the Italian flag cookies found in the North East.
Covered in chocolate with apricot or raspberry filling with an almond meringue cakey inside.
Double dog dare you.

I enjoy Heath, Cadburry fruit and nut, Ghirdelli dark chocolate and caramel.
I do try and limit my sugar, but give into it sometimes.

I am type II diabetic.
I have no problem with sugar, that is a misnomer.
I have a big problem with saturated fat. That is not info
well known by the public.
Our junk food diet loaded up with saturated fat is very bad for us.
Chocolate dark or milk is fat fat fat.
Insulin resistance is mainly caused by saturated fat. Weight gain around
the middle is mainly caused, IN type II diabetics, by saturated fat. NOT sugar.
Yes sucrose becomes glucose, but so does fat and protein. Everything we eat other
than fiber becomes glucose.
Our body has sensor cells that know what you eat and how to apply the nutrients.
If you raise your saturated fat intake with junk food to well over 25% of your diet, the results
are insulin resistance and weight gain around the middle.
The public is very misinformed by diets like the Atkins diet. Atkins claims were ignorant.
Yes if you shift away from one food group entirely you will drop some weight, but that effect
will wear off. All food becomes glucose.
Chocolate is bad for you, the chocolate lobbyists hope you dont figure that out.
Your muscles need loads of glucose to function, unless you load up on saturated fat, then
you shut down the functioning of your muscles in what is known as insulin resistance.
Most of your metabolism is based on muscle mass.
Eating something less than 25% of your intake as sat fat and exercising will reverse out
insulin resistance.
Must add: Glucose and insulin go straight into the muscle for non diabetics with no insulin resistance.
That energy, that sugar, is not stored at all, it is burned very quickly.

Oh I hate Heath bars and Butterfingers. Can't stand stuff that sticks to my teeth. I do recall losing a tooth to a Milk Dud once in my youth. Pulled the loose tooth right out.

There is no right diet for everyone.
I am 48, my diet is and has been right around 50% fat, and I am fit and strong (ex athlete) with very low bad cholesterol, excellent good cholesterol, low triglycerides, balanced blood sugars, the works. I have dietary issues and don't eat wheat, dairy, caffeine, alcohol or artificial sweeteners. I do eat butter and avocados and chocolate and a reasonable amount of real sugar, and a whole bunch of other delicious stuff.
Every human is a unique machine. What fuels one is poison for others. The only caveat is that always and without fail whole foods are better than processed, real food is better than synthetic.
That said, I LOVE York peppermint patties, and Ghiradelli dark chocolate. And caramel popcorn, but that's not really candy.

I love chocolate covered peanuts from the Death Valley Candy Store. Lucky (?) for me its 40 miles away (although there have been times that the distance hasn't stopped me)

Dark Chocolate Kisses.
I drive across the border to Fred Meyer once a month to take care of my craving. (Canada's puny population doesn't warrant Hershies selling such a delightful treat here, but I don't mind the road trip.)

Cynthia,
I just found it an eye opener what for most Type II diabetics is preached about sugar is not the reality.
Insulin resistance the very definition of type II diabetes is often not well understood by the patients.

Gummy Bears should be made illegal. (^_^)
I do not get Gummy Bears, jelly beans, licorice, or any other rigid, gelatinous candy that glues your teeth together.
I rarely eat candy now, by the way, even though I still have my favorite once in a blue moon.

You are all twisted in your own little ways.
That said Dark chocolate.....Lindt or Ritter or Ghirardelli....
But for now I watch my girlish figure......

Mon Cheri is a all time fav. The knock offs just can't compare.
I also like the multi-layered excitement of biting into a Ferrero Rocher Fine Hazelnut Chocolate. A very adult and sophisticated treat.
Then there is the Kinder eggs (European edition) with the prizes inside. We used to get some great stuff in Germany in the 70s. Once I got a little metal cannon. Nowadays the prizes are so safe, secure and boring.

Eye candy. Especially eye candy made with paint.
Oh... you mean edible candy. I like the Russell Stover candies that don't have nuts the best. It's hard to figure out which boxes of candy don't have nuts, though, you have to read the ingredients pretty carefully. The boxes of truffles don't seem to have nuts.
I also like rainbow unicorn peeps. Mike S: Please note the presence of the letter "e," and the absence of the letter "o" in peeps.

Cheryl, Glad you like eye candy. I heard it's good for you. The problem is some people cannot handle it. Maybe too sweet :)

Fiona,
We smuggle Crunchies and Flakies from Ireland into the US every chance we get, as a family.
