New To Faa!

Hello everyone!
I am an outdoors photographer and writer based in Southwest Washington. I've been trying to break into the photography business for years with limited success, and was hoping this website might help me sell a few prints. I've been using 500px for about a year, but never have been able to sell anything there, though I have over 100 of my best images posted there, here's the address if you'd like to check them out, I'd value your input! https://500px.com/andyzahn

I've also got accounts on Youpic and Viewbug where I am trying to grow an audience, and I have endeavored to grow my presence on Facebook (which I dislike) Twitter (which I do like), Google+, and more recently Pinterest. I've also been maintaining a blog, where I post photos, hiking stories, opinion pieces, timelapses, and most recently the first episode of a environmentally focused Vlog. http://illuminationsfromtheattic.blogspot.com/

I'm not sure about how to price my photos here, even after reading a bunch of threads on the forum discussing it. Since I'm new here I decided to set my smallest print size at a $10 markup and increase the markup by $10 for each size. I'm a little worried that this will make people undervalue my prints, but I want them to sell, and to me that even the $22 base price after my $10 markup seems like a lot! How do you price your prints (if you are a photographer)?

Here are the images I've uploaded so far, feel free to critique them!

Lower prices don't help you sell better here. The bottom at ten is probably fine but ten per size up gets kind of cheap.

Maybe I should explain it better:

8"=$10
10"=$20
12"=$30
14"=$40
16"=$50
20"=$75
24"=$100

I suppose the way I should have put it is that I start at $10 and then increase it by about $5 per inch. However, looking at my default prices I see that doesn't quite hold true throughout all the different sizes. Is there anyway to change the default settings and then apply them to the images I have already uploaded?

Basically to sell on here you either a. Have to have unique images of a underserved subject or b. promote your work off site, or both.

You can check other photographers pricing by hitting price details. The print price there will be the price the artist's price and a slight add on from FAA.

Yes, use the bulk edit for that.

That is about where my pricing started out though I am a bit higher now.

There will be a lot more help come through though tends to be a bit sparse on Sat night.

Thanks very much for the advice, I've spent a lot of time building a following on social networks over the past year, so maybe that will help me. I know my favorite subject matter is anything but unusual; landscapes, animals, flowers, etc. It is a very crowded field. However, I love photographing landscapes, animals, and flowers, so I going to keep at it and hopefully someday be able to break through that barrier that exists between amateur and professional lol!

Animals landscapes and flowers are crowded fields BUT there are underserved markets within each, especially landscapes. Most animals and flowers are covered pretty extensively but landscapes are location specific. If you can find landscapes in an area that is not shot to death AND a market exists then you can sell even without outside marketing. That said, it is best to push your work outside FAA and then push it to your artist website where you are alone in your field. Building a following as you are is exactly the type stuff you need to do, I will go find some links for you.
