Will This Print Large?

I have taken photos of this one over and over and I must have used too much linseed oil because there is a glare and I have not even varnished it yet. My question is in the top right quarter of this image I keep getting glare and blur. Will it print a large print or should I keep trying?

You're using a polarizer filter in front of the lens? They're like a sunglasses lens, but pure. They cut through glare and it disappears like magic - I find them essential

They range from inexpensive to relatively expensive- try ebay

Maybe your computer screen needs cleaning? lol

I am not seen glare but I am seeing a very coarse canvas texture at full resolution. I could be wrong but that is what it looks like to me. Just don't put a price in the last sizes if you are worried it will print. Of shot JC an email, he is on the selection committee that decides these things.

Yeah, I couldn't see any glare myself.

Looks great to me under the box.

Thanks JC. What would we do without you?

Great image, Phyllis. David King addressed this issue a while ago. He had suggested using retouch varnish.

fantastic image ,clarity is a fraction off based on the eyes and your name not that there would be any printing issues.

I am going to try spraying it down with a matte finish and taking another shot at photographing it. This one has been a doozie! Thanks everyone. I just do not want to sell a print and get that dreaded will not print mail! :O Thanks all.

i think you have glare there because the light was a bit too close. because i only see it at the very top over the water.

Mike, I painted the water first and used too much linseed oil to thin and that makes it REALLY shiny. So the water has a glare even without light hitting it. I just messed up big time!!!

on the plus side, of the places to have glare, that area would make the most sense.

The problem is the light position. Keep your lights at least 45-degrees off to the sides.

This is an adorable and beautiful image. I hope all works out well with it.

Love your color work and the shadows with the crab! I agree that the water being a little shiny makes sense and should print beautifully!

Oh I just saw this. I don't really see the glare. It does seem to have some areas that are soft, looking at the preview. Other areas are sharp. Stopping down the lens will usually get the whole thing in focus. Still I am pretty sure I would pass this one at the 48 inch size, if I was on the review team ;-)
Oh yes and keeping the light sources way off to the side as mentioned is the fix for glare for flat art.
