External Requests

Hello everyone,

A couple of weeks ago I got in my inbox two distinct requests (sent from my personal website, redirected to my gmail inbox) from different persons in different places, to upload versions of my existing images in FAA, to meet the custumer needs: one was a larger version of a particular image to permit a larger maximum print size; The other was a request for a landscape format crop of one image I have that is in square format.
I did both uploads and replied the requests, from my gmail account, with a link to the new images... None of those had a sequence. I didn't have a reply and no order was placed until today.

Can this be some kind of scam? I'm not figuring out how can it be but the fact is that it is very strange happening twice in the same week, when I don't have requests that often, and both got the same null outcome...

Any thoughts?

Thank you
Carlos

I honestly do not know. You could contact CS to see if they have had similar requests through them. I have had a few come through Tech Support but unfortunately do not see what happens after that

I get them now and then, sometimes they buy sometimes they don't.

I don't think they are scams.

as long as you didn't send the files to him, then no. though you should avoid upscaling your prints. if you got the order then yay. it might be coincidence, it might be that your work is being talked about on a blog, or that maybe you need to adjust other images to suit those other tastes. hard to know, as long as a sale came out of it, and all you had to do was upload it another way.

I had a request for something like this about 14 months ago. They wanted something cropped to a specific size to fit a space on their office wall. A few crop options later (this side or this side) they ordered it and it was there about a week later. I came by the next time I was in downtown Houston, they were very happy with it, and very unhappy with the mounting that another piece they'd ordered from another site had come with.

Thank you all!

Mike Savad, It was a minor upscale and I used "Perfect Resize" which is way better than doing it in PS.
Can't do anything other than keep waiting for those orders... although it's quite frustrating and unfair if they don't come.
