My first DSLR was a Nikon D90. Why not a Canon? It was because of the 18-200 mm lens, and at this time, Canon had nothing equivalent. Some years later I bought a new camera. Again, it was a Nikon. Why? Because I have invested in some Nikon lenses over the years.
Maybe one of the camera has a feature you especially like, or the placement of the buttons, or simply one of the two you have on your short list is cheaper at the moment.
At the end it doesn´t matter, if you buy a Canon, Nikon, Pentax, ... When looking at the picture, nobody on earth can tell, which brand you´ve used.
Edit: When you´ve made your decission, don´t look back. Take what you have, and use it.
