Phone App For Identifying Calls

I just found an app called "truecaller" that can identify strange numbers that show up on your phone. The database is huge and the answer comes up in a few seconds.
With the ever increasing internet exposure for art, it's probably wise to answer unfamiliar numbers...I've had more than a few be clients!
This is just a Public Service Announcement.
No need to start debating any issues...just wanted to let those who may be interested, know.
CLARIFICATION: This app only identifies calls when you search the number in their database..it is not cell phone caller ID

It was a pain and took over my phone in the end. I had to remove it. Probably something I did though and the premise was good

Same here. I ended up just not answering the phone for numbers I didn't recognize, and left in my voice greeting to email me ( with my public email address ) or leave a voice mail and i'll call back. Works fine for me.

Abbie, how does it take over your phone?
I didn't sign up for any notifications or bells and whistles ( never do).

Abbie,

Might be you are in the UK and it had to work on US servers. That is still an international headache
with phone services.

Addition: A headache the phone companies cynically cash in on

Interesting. I might play with this one. One drawback is that you have to have WiFi or Data turned on to use. I rarely have either turned on.

Here's their website. You can enter numbers to check them. Very handy!

I no longer think of my iPhone as a phone....it is a small computer that takes/makes call and I'm almost always connected to wifi....

You said in your OP, Marlene: With the ever increasing internet exposure for art, it's probably wise to answer unfamiliar numbers...I've had more than a few be clients!

My experience is once a person who wants to talk to me hears me voicemail greeting they email me. I then reply with scheduling a time to talk, and we can conference for more than a few minutes as it's in both of our calendars.
