Lee Reynolds

I grabbed an old canvas at a thrift shop because of a discussion here regarding "repurposing" old canvases. This one intrigued me and I thought it would be fun to redo somehow. I was about ready to start slapping white paint on it but then decided to google Ley Reynolds, the artist. And found some interesting information ... and then I checked on Ebay and saw that his paintings have quite a high mark up....what are your thoughts?

Don't judge a value by ebay - people can put it on Ebay for whatever amount they want, means nothing till someone buys it.
If you tick the box for "sold listings" you'll see they went for about $60 average.

Don't paint on the canvas, and it was a good find. Here is an interesting article on him.

Ahh ok thanks so much....

My husband looked at it and he said ... "motel art..." and that is what I was thinking too when I bought it....

Here is a full picture of it..

I would say you have a good find. Try to confirm his signature and then hang it proudly.

I am no hurry and I have other ones to do ...I also have a painting done by a Jan Newton but can't find her anywhere ... the signature of Lee's if you compare is not similar to his original signature so my guess is that this is a Vanguard Art even though it does not indicate it as such. It is stretched canvas.
