Great Buyer Feedback But... It Is Very Hidden

Thanks to Nikolyn McDonald for alerting me to a nice customer feedback I recently received from a buyer of a phone case with this image on it:

Photography Prints

"Absolutely brilliant product and quick delivery, would definitely recommend it to anyone." -- John Dawes

Unfortunately it took me about 30 minutes to find it on the site.

It would be nice to get an email alert to feedback and to have the feedback show up in a more obvious spot on the site. Maybe even on the product page.

Here is the review page so you don't have to hunt for it: http://fineartamerica.com/buyercomments.html

yeah it would be nice to be told of these things. for all i know i'm on there, but it rotates and we aren't told, and i just tend to forget that page. on Z they put them all aside so you can get an idea why they bought it and how they liked it.

I sure wish I could get some feedback on the print quality. Oh well, "congratulations on your sale".

Been there. :-(

A local buyer mentioned that she'd submitted "a glowing review" after purchasing my work here. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks had already passed and the review was nowhere to be found. Until then (last October), I had no idea such reviews even existed on the site!

Makes me wonder how many I've missed over the years.

I'd put this on the home page. No better sales person than other buyers with glowing reviews.

It's a double edged sword...for every glowing review, there's one that sucks....make them more visible...eh...maybe not such a good idea.

I'm not seeing any bad ones. The ones I see are glowing and well thought out. If anything a few clunkers just raises the honesty level.

I agree with that feedback is very important not only for artist, who is proud of a good opinion, but for other possible buyers, helping them avoiding be hesitating in front of a buy

Some of the reviews aren't so glowing, Edward.
And I've only been checking it for a couple of weeks - since I was alerted to it through another thread here where many of the same suggestions were made (let us know, make it easier to find, etc.). I now check it daily. It has been my limited experience that images are not random. And since there aren't that many buyers who come back after they have received the product and post a review, you can easily keep up if you do so. Probably every 4-5 days would do it, but it's easier for me to keep track if I do it daily.

For those who missed the earlier thread(s) or who just don't know where to find the reviews, it's under About > Satisfaction Guarantee > #4.

There are some comments that are not feedback but rather customer service related. This indicates the lack of a clear path to customer service which could be solved by a pop up customer service chat like RB has.

A good thread would be a post of feedback - like the sales thread. Abbie?

This came up not long ago - despite what's there right now, there are some comments that are not so glowing. Which really isn't surprising. Most people are either going to rave or complain bitterly, either end of the stick.

About midway through this thread, Floyd relates a handful of the less pleased ones that were present at the time:

I do read them regularly and it's nice to get an idea what customers think but I really wouldn't want them any more public than they are now.

As for how many you may have missed, probably not many. They have been around less than two years and if you skip a few days it's unlikely you'd miss any. The top says they are random, but they aren't. Check back tomorrow and there will be a handful of new ones at the top.

One of these reviews has a private address of a buyer or recipient on it. That should be removed immediately.

LATER: OK, it was near the bottom of the page, and was bumped off by new reviews coming in at the top. However, the recipient's full address was showing for over two weeks, which is totally unacceptable.

Hi, Mark -- I didn't realize this was a fairly new thing. Good to know.

While I don't want reviews on my product pages, I'd love to read them, myself. Good, bad, or indifferent -- I'd like to hear what my (FAA's -- I know!) buyers have to say, and whether they're commenting on the actual artwork or some aspect of customer service/product fulfillment.

Wendy - I read most of them periodically, not just mine. But I agree that it would be nice to get a notice specifically when we have feedback from people who ordered from us and to be able to see the whole comment not just the beginning of it.

Anyway, reading them has been worth it for a flavor of what is on any buyer's mind. Many of the ones responding clearly don't read. Like I saw one in there recently complaining that overnight delivery wasn't overnight. It says that clearly when you choose overnight - i.e. that they still need time to prepare the product - overnight is only the shipping, but you can't force people to read. ;-)
