There is a lot of info here about that......it seems that sales is mostly related to what you do outside of FAA.

Martin, I looked at your set of "flowers and plants" and most of them without a proper name/key word of the plant, even if buyers looking for image of those flowers they would not able to find yours. You needed to get a book on plants.

use the search and you'll see this comes up every month and the avg is about 2 weeks to never.

a few tips, your avatar makes you look worried and not confident, look at us with eye contact.

this is very noisy and has a white outline around the plane. it probably won't print. and the very dark color makes it less attractive to click on. brighter would be better for this. overall its not very sharp. these are things buyers may be looking for. have a more interesting description.

always start people in galleries.

always make sure your pictures are straight. this is nice otherwise. many of your images seem to have a blur issue. like your using a noise remover too aggressively.

i think you should raise your prices a bit, but be sure to add descriptions more than what you have. you want content if you want to be seen in google. you have to advertise yourself.

it often takes months before people start buying your work, it will take an average of 3 months or more before someone buys a single piece from me. it takes that long to spread across the net and get people hungry for it.

A small thing i noticed was on your about me , you have "I am an amateur Photographer" probably you may want to change the wording ,you want to appear confident and professional.
i use to have the words "self taught" and changed it as.after looking at that it then appeared to me as i was fumbling with my work and it wasn't a professional approch and if i could see that then buyers would as well .

Don't know who said it but MUST have been an FAA member. Right?

yeah i second the bio change. you don't want to say

as you can tell from my work i have no set field of photography but most of my work is nature, landscape and wildlife based. If something catches my eye i will generally capture it as a digital image.

your a photographer that shoots nature, wildlife and landscape, and scenes from where ever it is you live. and that's it. they don't need to know your a beginner or self taught because that may taint how they see you. don't mention digital image because while its true, your using a camera, they know what it is, and everyone else shoots digital as well.

john it might be less confusing if you opened another thread since it's about a different topic.

I, for one, just started, but some great tips here. I also think, is my photo one that someone would want to print and display in their home. Some photos, including mine, may be fun or cool to look at, but I could never see anyone wanting to print and display them. But, hey, I guess you never know. :-)

Exactly - you have to remember a real live breathing person spending hard earned money is on the other end of the exchange. Offer work worthy of their time, attention and especially $$.

You also have to be aware of the alternatives your competition is offering. Got an photo of a bald eagle with a shadow across half his face? Is the competition offering a better shot?

Some people sell within their first few days. It was a week for me. Some take months; others take years. Not sure how this information helps.
