Post Your First Day Sellers!

Ya know, I recognized that as your work when I reviewed it.

Never had a first day sale, ever. Had a first week a couple times but that is as close as I get.

I had a three day one but most take months.

JC thats awesome...that means my style and look, if not perfect, is at least a bit unique.

I think I've had two but can't find the other one so maybe it was only this.
This one happened same day just this month and was a nice surprise. I remember posting it very early in the morning on April 3. I tweeted, pinned and posted it on a number of places/pages on FB. I happen to know that the sale came from FB since the buyer messaged me after she bought it.
Since then it has sold one more time. Again after aggressive promotion on twitter and FB. It pays to promote for sure :)

My FB posts are still wearing out my phone vibrator this morning. Hopefully they keep going!

Congratulations on your first day sales Thomas and Joann. Both are stunning images. I have had a 2nd day sale for a greeting card and that is as close as I have come. I do not seem to get much from my facebook posts. It will say I have reached somewhere between 7 to 30 at the most.

I was able to get this image shared by a couple groups with 50k + members, and they went pretty viral from there, currently I am over 1k shares, and 7k likes between the different pages, and I am not sure how many comments. I can get 1000 likes on my own page if I pay to promote. The key really is getting them out there, and it doesn't always work....I just got lucky this time!

Post up that 2nd dayer......I'd love to see it!

OK, here goes--this is my 2nd day card sale. I think maybe it is because it is kind of "cute" . I have had some images that have had a lot of views very quickly but those have not necessarily sold right away. I had one of my abstracts go kind of viral on stumble but actually never has sold

How about the opposite? Very first image I uploaded to FAA in 2011. All time most views, votes and comments in my portfolio. Never sold until two days ago. :-)

Here's a couple more to add. I had a rare whole day off yesterday and spent the extra time promoting these two new uploads.
Sold a phone case of the Fire Dept and a print and pillow to someone else.
It doesn't happen often, so it's pretty cool when it does :)

I sometimes create new work and know which collector will buy it. ;) So I've had quite a few....

Small cheat. This one was a "second day" seller. But I admit, someone emailed me and asked for a black and white version of the same photo that I had posted in color. I found it (thank goodness, it's an older image), converted it, and posted it, told him it was posted and he bought it the next day:

Just this one, and I was pleasantly surprised since it was purchased by someone across the country from me who I'm fairly certain I've never met.

I'll celebrate that day I sell something on the same day as I put it up :). I sold a print 5 days after putting it up once but that's as close as I have come.
