Kids React To A Typewriter

amusing watching their reactions . makes ya wonder in 50 years what their grandchildren will be trying to figure out. I watched the one telephones too. how many kids that didn't know what a pay phone was.

Good advice, Jennifer -- but the kids are probably too busy reading comic books on their I-Pads to give it a second thought! :)

I'm wondering when these kids will be asking why the funny icon on their smartphones for placing a call....

I wonder what kidz now a days would do with say an old captain america comic......probably wonder around like lost nomadz.

That put a smile on my face...seeing the reaction of those kids of what to make of the typewriter.

I feel like their grandfather because I did use them in the past.

They dont understand where the icon for the save button came from. Now thats funny too.

In high school they had typing class (keyboard familiarization to you youngsters) and as you walked by you would hear 20 or more typewriters ding at the same time as they tried to get you to type in a rhythm. IBM selectrics with correction came out in the early 70s and revolutionized business hiring standards for secretaries and outdated the dicta-phone, shorthand, and helped boost copy machine innovations.
10 years later EVERYONE had a personal computer with at least 64K memory and "floppy disk" storage.
When my son tells me my generation can't even use a cell phone, I quickly remind him it was our generation who invented that cell phone and EVERYTHING he is using in technology and that his generation only ads slight improvements using education (that costs more for useless degrees) paid for by my generation. He clams up and goes back to typing with his thumbs on facebook.
